Cash has quit !

From the online Observer:

Family commitments and a promotion at work are the primary reasons for Cash's resignation after only a week in the job.

"I'd like to wish everyone at the club all the very best and this is a purely personal decision. I'm still in shock, but my new responsibilites mean I would be unable to give the position 100 per cent which would not be fair to anybody," Cash said..

Colin Lippiatt will take charge of the team on Saturday and is likely to be installed as the permanent manager once chairman John Gibson returns from business abroad.

Picture the scene.

Cash delighted after 3-1 success at mighty Broxbourne. Goes to leave Clubhouse. Meets AFF. Long conversation follows about the merits of 4-4-2 over three at the back - Peter his usual persuasive self. Cash loses will to live. Resignation follows.

Anyway, enough of that. Overdraft you say? Don't forget we've just made £25k from the Cup! Liability? - Stop mucking about with all this SC stuff and appoint Tony Choules. You know it makes sense.

Ask the Chesham folk 'bout Colin Lippiatt. Be afraid.

Eh up Webbo! Trust you're well.

I (as with most things) paid the £2k for the red tractor, just ask Eamsie, but my speakers were still in your main stand last time I looked, as were my seats in the stand, floodlights (lamps & fittings), TVs in the board room, etc., I could go one but what's the point!

Tony Choules - now you're talking.

Before you print too many membership cards for the yet to be formed Harding fan Club, Zealster, it would be interesting to see Buzz Lightyear's receipt for the tractor, to compare it with the one in the hands of one of our current Directors.

One of them might be a forgery.

You're an accountant Zeal. A tractor. Would the purchase of that be a legitimate business expense? Something to be allowed against tax? Depreciation etc? The VAT question is an interesting one.

Still. If no books are kept, it's all rather academic really.

Talk of receipts reminds me af the fascinating story of the grants but that will keep for another day.

Don't make me laugh.

Accounts assistant. One hell of a difference. About seven years of college and an extra £30k a year being two of them.

Can't see everyone's problem with L.H. He saved the club from bankrupcy, and then unfortunately the club got into financial difficulties towards the end of his time.

Same with Bernard, although Bernard is spoken of as if he's some kind of hero. Don't remember getting to the FA Trophy Semi-Finals during the Tominey era, I'm sure.

If I had been on the receiving end of the same kind of abuse as Lee Harding was, then I'd have walked out and stuck two fingers up to all the miserable tossers at SACFC too!

I supose the tractor question is whether it was his own personal property being loaned to the club, or an accountable asset that belonged to the club.

Your stereo analogy doesn't really fit the point I was trying to make about petty items being removed - wasn't there a tea urn involved? and a pumpkin? As for the seats and floodlights, these are part of the infrastructure of the ground, you wouldn't expect someone to take the batchroom with them when they move house would you?

Rob, ownership is all about he who makes the payment - just ask Eamsie who paid (and it won't be a current SACFC director). There is still much at the Club that was not purchased by the Club.

Jill, you're spot on mate. I don't care anymore - it's all in the past, but brought up on a regular basis by AFF. Each time he regurgitates, I will too.

Not too sure about your majority/minority assessment. But I wish you all (even AFF) the very best in the future.
