New Players

I see from the Reporter that Andy is saying that if we want a new striker for the new season, then he would potentially need to let one of the existing strikers go.

 

He is quoted as saying he's happy with what he's got.

 

I for one would go along with that - lets give our strikers from last season a chance before we start panicking and releasing players, and replacing them with others who may not be any better.

 

Lets not forget how many goals we scored over the course of last season, even if they did dry up a bit as the pressure told in the latter stages.

 

And anyway, the strength of or team is the fact that goals are scored from most positions in the team, so the reliance on 1 striker isnt as great as in some other teams.

 

Apparently, we had a total of 30 players at preseason on Tuesday, and only Wilkins and Owen of the signed players werent there, due to holidays.

 

The Reporter also says Simon Parker is coaching in America and, as for much of last season, isnt going to train with Fleet on a regular basis, if at all, due to his University commitments.

 

No doubt Andy will post again soon to give us a full update on the player situation.

 

Still, looking forward to Tuesday week now, when we play that first home friendly against Brighton.
