Seems DJHinckley has got his knickers in a twist as he's posted the fact we've 'cheated' on each of the other clubs boards.

My comments are the same as I made to Monty on the other thread. We are not the one's who started multiple posting first in this vote, nor are we the only one's doing it currently.

Can DJHinckley categorically state that no Hinckley fans have posted multiple votes? Sounds like sour grapes to me that we've been more effective at something they started.

I am sorry Ian but you are quite wrong and you're just kidding yourself. When I first learned of the nomination on Monday The poll was Histon 77%, Slough18%,and the others 2%each( with decimal points to make up the difference). This must have represented very few votes as when I contacted some people( 9 or 10) and they voted the percentage changed immediately. Of course this probably continued for a while as they in turn told others , but I can assure you they were real votes from real fans , honestly made! Such early fluctuations are to be expected but would balance out as other groups came on line- at least if all were playing by the rules. But when I looked later Slough had surged forward. A look at this site explained it. At first Slough chose to suspect something that didn't exist and then posts soon descended to openly telling people how to fix the voting and encouraging them to do it. They obviously complied , just look at how quickly the figures changed! Of course, once you'd started it was inevitable the others would join in - why should cheats prosper! I think DJ at Hinckley even warned the others what you were up to so thay could at least compete if they wanted to.Even if tere was some block voting elsewhere it must have been only limited and even if you choose not to believe that Slough started it you must admit they perpetuated it and turned it into an art Form! Just look at the posts on Monday night- it was like a feeding frenzy! How smug they were to find new ways to cheat, how proud that they were making a change to the figures, not by getting lots of people to vote but a few people making lots of votes. It shocked me how open and shameless these people are. All the self congratulations and then some slight worries creeping in that they might have been rumbled. At first I was angry with the injustice of it all but now I just think what's the point. Slough have made it all meaningless anyway. It seems Histon are still trying to play your game but I'm glad Hinckley have stopped. I wouldn't want to be associated with a club who openly condoned such dubious practices. I expected some stick from your site( in truth I expected more) and I may be anal but at least I'm honest. If you were you wouldn't try to defend or excuse Slough's behaviour as it is inexcusable.

The ultimate decision rests with the panel, not with the results of the vote. Therefore, the FA can plainly see whether multiple votes have been cast and rule accordingly. They clearly haven't done so on previous rounds as they have awarded the accolade to the player with the most votes when multiple voting has taken place from day one, not something that Slough started as you suggest. From this we can assume the FA really aren't that bothered.

For someone to get so upset about this is petty and naive and as for being associated with a club that perpetrates such crimes, well if you're a Hinckley fan then you are associated with it.

The FA have obviously upgraded the polling mechanism - the display, at least, has been greatly enhanced (no longer a separate popup).

Looks much better.

As Staines Rebel says, it is now restricted to one vote per person, and it says as much when you attempt to vote a second time.

(It would be even more swish, Mr TheFA.com, if the results were shown automatically when the webpage was opened, if you had already voted... But I guess that's a tad more complicated.)

It seems to have accepted my vote for Haddow ('again'), on top of the 64.5% (ish) already noted. So it is worthwhile everyone trying the mechanism out for themselves, as these might count as 'additional' votes.

Out of interest, and purely to ensure that the loophole has now been closed, could someone try the known 'cheat' mechanism, to see if it no longer works?
