Yeading Match

Just seen this on the Yeading website...

Yeading's FA Cup game at Slough will take place on Saturday 4 December at Windsor & Eton FC’s Stag Meadow, kicking off at 3pm. Whilst the game is not all-ticket, space will be limited and fans are advised to buy tickets in advance, to not only be guaranteed entry but also to benefit from reduced advance ticket prices. Tickets will be on sale at The Warren at Yeading's Saturday home game against Windsor & Eton. Advance tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £7 for concessions including children. In addition a family ticket is available for £15 providing entry for one adult and one child. For those buying tickets on the day at the gate entry will be charged at £12 for adults and £8 for concessions. If a replay is required in the game it will take place here at The Warren on Tuesday 14 December in a 7.30pm kick off.

There were some complications as I said surrounding which day it would be played. Windsor gave their full co-operation in assisting us as well so should be praised.

Tickets will be sold from inside the ground during the Worthing match on Saturday.

Should have full confirmation from Roy shortly.

Even though it's a Second Round Proper tie... does anyone else think £12 on the gate is a tad expensive? - if it's confirmed that is. Won't bother me either way as I'll buy a ticket, but will this discourage the 'occasional' fan?

I think it may well discourage a few fans - it'll cost me £28 for a start (but I just won't tell the missus!)

I suspect that this price allows the home side to pay its way as normal, with the extra amount being the proportion paid to the visiting side and the FA.

I would be surprised if this match has a high attendance, even though it is 2nd round FA cup. To the occassional supporter, this is little more than a league match, but with tickets twice the price. Also, it is on a Saturday, so we won't get most of the casual support we got for the Salisbury match.

I've said from the moment it was drawn that we should sell tickets in advance with the incentive that anyone who retains their stub will be guaranteed a ticket for the third round game should we get there. Reducing prices for advanced sales will have little or no effect as prices are hardly dear to start with in comparison to most other leisure pursuits.

High Street shops should be deluged with posters declaring "90 minutes from Old Trafford".

I also agree with Warren about the kids tickets. In fact I'd go as far as suggesting we should give 500 away free to local schools for this one.

I have an inkling that the FA doesn't allow freebies etc. in the cup.

I think that the 90 minutes from Old Trafford idea would sell quite a lot of tickets. I'd like to see a poster put up in every shop in Slough, and given the publicity we've had, quite a lot would put up a poster--if we call in person and ask.

Fron the FA website

All persons must be charged admission to the ground, enclosure and stands in all matches subject to the following conditions:

(i) In the Qualifying Competition, each Club shall be entitled to 30 complimentary tickets.

(ii) In the Competition Proper, each Club shall be entitled to 50 complimentary tickets.

(iii) Complimentary tickets issued by the Home Club in excess of the above must be accounted for at the price at which they would have otherwise been sold.

(iv) A complimentary ticket is a ticket that allows admittance to any area of the stadium to attend a match for no consideration where a charge would otherwise be made by the home club.

AND

(B) Immediately after the draw is known, the two Clubs concerned must mutually agree the prices of admission subject to the following conditions:

(i) The minimum admission (except to children and senior citizens) to matches shall be:

In the Extra-Preliminary, Preliminary and First Round Qualifying: £3.00

In the Second and Third Rounds Qualifying: £4.00

In the Fourth Round Qualifying: £5.00

In the Competition Proper: £6.00

(ii) The price of admission for children and senior citizens must be mutually agreed by both Clubs concerned.

(iii) A higher admission charge may be mutually agreed between the Clubs concerned.

So kids for a quid would be possible if both clubs agree.

The "90 minutes from Old Trafford" tagline would certainly be eye-catching, but we must ensure that we do not break any rules about 'misrepresentation' or anything like that - may need to put some explanatory small print on the poster?

That would not be misrepresentation and we could always put a little disclaimer * Subject to the FA Cup Third Round Draw which is definately not rigged.
