It could have been worse I suppose! It was better than the 1989 version.

I haven't heard it, though the bit on the news yesterday with them singing acapella in the line-up sounded dreadfully American. Don't know who it was (Sugababes maybe) doing all the Mariah-esque embelishments at the end of the chorus? It can do without it.

 

Who got the "Tonight Thank God.." line, then? Justin or Bono??

He was going to be Lennon, but we went off it as time went on, as it sounded a bit 'Essex'. You could imagine all his mates at school being called Brooklyn and Chardonnay.

 

But we wanted to stick to the rock legends theme, and although Bob Dylan isn't one of my particular personal heroes, he's named more after him than any of the others Dylan's mentioned. Really, we just liked the name.

 

I wanted to go with Hendrix, but Mrs Z wasn't keen!!

It's about to be played on XFM in 10 mins so I'll post my review after that!

Well it's exactly how you'd expect it to sound with Coldplay, Keane, Embrace, Travis and Turin Brakes involved. With the Darkness guitars sounding out of place over the above bands poxy piano and the occasional girl band sounding out of place. And Dizzee Rascal should stick to making early 80's hits sound like kids nursey rhymes.

 

I'll be sending £3.99 to Christian Aid instead.
