UB what do you class as a true supporter?

 

we have had this topic before, Not everyone can make every game but go to as many as they can possibly get to.

The players did not want to leave and certianly didn't know when they arrived what would happen. Other fans will always taunt that the money man will pull out but I for one didn't believe it and I doubt they expected it. Why sign if you think there's a huge risk involved?

 

They went to Grays because it was the first/best offer they got. They didn't know whether they were coming or going and with money and security on offer after just having cheques bounced, they went for it. They may be our bitter rivals, (but they hate Thurrock more) but for the lads, it was also local and full-time. So when you take all that into consideration, they really did not have much choice.

 

I know they were gutted as they were loving playing for the club - why wouldn't they? What a wonderful situation! The rug was pulled from beneath them and panic ensued. They couldn't have offered their services for the FA Cup game as they were playing for their new team as were many others. And the remaining players can't risk injury as much as they probably would have loved to play. Who is going to sign Carey, Harris, Mustafa - they aren't fit? The fit players couldn't chance being in the same boat as they have bills to pay. Yeah, it's not in keeping with the romance of the cup - it's realistic.

 

I bet the ex-players will be in the bar on Saturday happy to talk to fans as always as Matthews was last Tuesday, he came to see the lads and fans.

understand the players needing security, but surely the grays offers would have still been there 24 hours later?

 

just happened all too quickly for everyone, i suppose - we're all still reeling really.

 

Its going to be really upsetting seeing the players in grays kits/tracksuits.
