Guess the only way is up (if you discount relegation)

 

Maybe expected too much yesterday but I never dreamt that we would lose 0-3.

 

Luck was never on the Saints side against Weymouth but it's obvious that the new management team have a lot of work to do.

 

Where are the goals going to come from ? It's all pretty 'powder puff' up front.

 

Mid-field needs some bite. At the moment once our forwards have lost the ball the defence is immediately under pressure. Sometimes the attack could be more direct. I don't mean 'hoof' it forward all the time but more use could be made of the decent through ball.

 

The defence goes to sleep too often and is easily drawn out of position, A strong 'no nonsense' centre half and commanding keeper would help.

 

Still its early days and we wouldn't bottom if we were faultless. So good luck to the new management team - onward and upward!

I think it would have been different if Martin had stayed on the pitch. Once he went off injured we struggled in the middle of defence without Zoricich.

 

Armand is a good shot-stopper but doesn't fill me with confidence; hopefully Capleton will be back soon.

 

The midfield play too deep. Parker and Marwa should be supporting the attack, and Hann and Walshe should be helping out more with the defensive duties.

 

In attack, Clarke has class but is not a deadly finisher. Beech still shows promise though was guilty of missing a couple of 'sitters'. Not sure about Dolan, he appeared to be carrying a leg injury.

 

Oh well, on we go, Broxbourne and Marget next, then up against some youngster called Castle at Hornchurch.
