no we are not wealthy ,no money man to top up the coffers ,ok we do not owe anything but we live within our means ,not sure how much Geoff King puts into Canvey but I bet it more than matches our crowds,we have no big money earners just young lads wanting to make a name for themselves so that like Adam Miller they can better their careers

Midfield - I would like to see Sedgemore have more of a crack at goal. He seems to hold that central area - he's not defensive midfield (sounds like we could have done with this on Saturday) and doesn't have a good go at goal like Mints - he switches the ball very well and always tries to play others through without having a crack himself.

That should be [color:"purple"]Bowers & Pitsea [/color] . If Kingy really does have the hump, then we may be facing most of your first team. I believe the idea is for him to have a look at some potential signings and triallists.

Must admit trialsist and potential signings hadn't really crossed my mind.

 

The first team was mentioned on the official website. Also we have signed a few players, particularly midfield, and we have a fairly big squad already - so additional players didn't cross my mind unless I'd heard that Jeff had started to release a few. It'll all become clear tomorrow night.

In Borg's 4 years we made three profits and one loss. We then made a loss of over £100K in the year we were promoted, but apparently made a profit of more than double that last season.

 

But all of this doesn't alter the fact that we are a club that basically pays wages consistent with our income, which is almost entirely through the gates .

 

As you say, we can 'afford' relatively high wages. But we are not and never have been supported by a 'backer' like Rushden (or even the likes of Yeovil or Chester) and to bracket us with them is silly.

i was under the impression that aldershot are not big spenders like some of the above mentioned clubs.. dont they have some rules in place that they have to balance the books over a period of time since they were reformed.. personaly ive been very impressed with what the shots have achieved and their natural level is prob one higher than this .. and borg was fking amusing

Did not post to bracket you with individual backers but to state the obvious, you are better able to fund your position and to progress than less well off clubs

If asked I would comment that yours is the best way to be cash solvent just have a look at Hornchurch where according to watchdog honest creditors of "coldseal" have lost thousands whilst the urchins had millions poured in
