Maidstone United

The long awaited new ground, to possibly be situated at Whatman Way, near the old barracks building since converted to the White Rabbit Pub, has passed the penultimate planning permission hurdle. On the 18th Nov it could all become a reality. A decent local rival side probably won't be many years away to renew competition as Kent's best non-league club.

We need Dartford and Maidstone to get their new grounds and to work their way up the leagues.

I've never gone along with this new fangled hating Canvey or Margate ..... old enemies are the best (worst?) Let Canvey hate Billericay or Southend and let Margate and Dover continue their mutual loathing I can't wait for Dartford and Maidstone to get decent teams so that we can give them the whupping they deserve.

With the Dart's playing Fisher today, who are top with a number of
former League and Conference players I thought I'd take a look.

You may have a bit of a wait Slarti before you see Fleet Vs the Darts in a League match again. Today, they had far too many youngsters in the team and were outplayed by a half-decent Fisher side.

The Darts included Eddie McClements and Tostoa Kwashi in their line up. Both were played out-of-position if you consider Kwashi was a right winger for the Fleet and McClements was a Left Back. Today Kwashi played up front and McClements played in Central Midfield and was subbed just after half time. Kwashi done ok but had no real support for his tricks.

Fisher had Hamid Barr (scored 1), Leon Braithwaite (ex-Margate), Mark Warren (Southend United) and Steve Mcnamara (ex-Brentford) in their line-up.

I know its another level completely but Warren looked an accomplished centre half - marshalling the back line with the kind of authority the Fleet have been missing of late. Might be worth a look Fordy?

Fisher presumably must have someone backing them financially as I can't see how else they can afford such good players at this level on their gate receipts alone.
