Artificial pitch

I note that if planning is acjhieved, there is an artificial (training?) pitch allowed for.

imo with UEFA's relaxation of the law and improved quality, the developers should be encouraged to make the main pitch artificial.

If Gate play 50% of games on it, it would give us distinc home advantage, give a better and consistent quality of football(thus bigger crowds) ,and for the developers/club a pitch that could be used/rentd out 5/6 days a week and thus improved income stream from our CORE business-football.

It looks like Ramsgate/Gills/Gravesend may all need alternative facilities over next 5 years ,so we could rent it out.

Plus local hockey club etc.

pop concerts without damaging the pitch etc.

[color:"blue"] I'd agree if we were to get a UEFA grant to lay one, believe they're handing out dosh to offset the costs. However Hartsdown has always had good drainage, so good quality turf (as used after the 'leveling' of the pitch) will always produce a hardwearing surface.

The one good entertainment value of an artificial pitch would be to see groundsman Ray going around on Sunday with his 'shake and vac'.
