Any news on any new signing?

I spoke to Charles Webster as part of my Business Studies coursework, and he said that Andy was lookig at signing a new centre back, and was having to go through an agent. Any idea who it is?

Could it be an Urchin? coz they were all professionals weren't they, and so are likely to have agents.

To be honest, I'd be surprised if an agent would try to get his client a place with a part-time club when he is currently a full-time player.

Then again, that's just me using the stereotypical view of agents as unscrupulous money-grabbers...

Lets hope this new signing works out as it doesn't look like Lee Shearer will be returning . . . for a long while at least . . . if at all?

The Dover boss is also hoping to extend Lee Shearer's loan by three months from Gravesend.

He added: "Andy Ford, their manager, is up for this deal and I've just got to finalise things with Lee. He is a big player for us."

He played alongside Jay Saunders in the centre back position tonight against Redbridge;didn`t look too bad.

James Pullen looked pretty good in goal, shouting at defenders and getting them pushing up more.Macca scored the equaliser.Other than that, not much else on show to shout about.Moussa got a whack on the head and was stretchered off just at the start of the second half.Game ended 1-1.

The triallist was Tom Groves - former England U-19 International, it seems

Tom Groves - NOTTINGHAM FOREST 18.07.85

Tom was a regular part of the Under-19's team that won The F.A. Premier League title last season. Although he operated mainly at left back his best position is probably centre back, or centre midfield. A very versatile player Tom, actually joined Nottingham Forest Football Club as a centre forward.

"A crowd of 70 plus braved a freezing cold night in North Kent to witness a hard fought game [...]. A Drury run from the left, a swivel and a turn and a cross across the face of the goal saw Steve McKimm volley home from around six yards to level the scores. The Fleet masses went wild and there was much jubilation around the stadium."

Is he taking the mickey?

popovic was ok from what i saw, has a tendency to hoof it away anywhere, but at least its away from goal. moussa looked really hurt when he went down right in front of me but its good to hear he was up and about.

Gary martin on the left for us was v good i thought, i hope to see a lot more of him for the fleet.

pinnock must be pushing for another start this saturday after his good performance. Pullen our ne keeper was excellent IMO, commanding, a good communicator with our back four and a good shot stopper. shame about the kicking. for their goal it was a great save, parryed away for the striker to mop up. But even then he nearly got a hand to it. Cant say a lot about our goal because it was up the other end from me.
