As I work them out I will try to unravel some of the mysteries of the features for those of you who are still struggling to control your mouse <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

 

Today's lesson is private messages.

 

You can send someone a private message by clicking on their profile and selecting send a message, or clicking on the message button in one of their posts. (If there is no button then that person has elected not to receive private messages)

 

You can also add any individual to your "buddy list" as a shortcut to all the above.

 

The only problem that I can see, and no doubt Ian will correct me if I am wrong, is that there is no "little light" to tell you that you have received a message, so you have to keep checking your profile to see if there are any messages.

 

You can however elect to have an e-mail sent to you to tell you you have a message. This is done without revealing your e-mail address to anyone. You select this option by amending your profile.

In the new software users will have flashing icon if they have a PM waiting...
