I was saddened to hear of the plight of Hornchurch the other day via a post on the forum of my own club, Southend United.

 

In light of this I felt inclined to wish you guys good luck for the difficult times that are 'round the corner. We have had difficult times ourselves, and I know how it feels to worry about whether your club will survive the week or not.

 

Having been to bridge avenue a few times last season when SUFC were playing far north, I must say I was impressed. The supporters were friendly and welcoming, the facilities were excellent and the football was of a (admittedly surprisingly) high quality and played in excellent spirit. You put the shambles that is Canvey Island to shame!

 

Often what does not kill us only makes us stronger and I hope that you will come out the other side and start to rise further up the leagues.

 

Once again, good luck and sincere best wishes, on behalf of myself and all othe real supporters of Southend United FC.
