As I said at the start of the season, a top ten finish and a good cup run would be an improvement and we can still do that. Martin Jol is a good manager and we have some quality players in the squad. Reserve judgement to the end of the season.

 

At least we don't have a manager who constantly brings the game into disrepute and insults other players.

He certainly appears to be passionate about improving what has been a badly run and managed club. I can also see him working well with Arneson.

Both Arneson and Jol are very highly regarded in Holland. Neither of then has ever won anything in England - it's, err, their first season here. You've got to start somewhere!

 

Time will tell. Most importantly I think we'e going to see some good football.

This is not about the manager, cause we have got through so many, they can't all have been bad.

 

This is about the board, it all goes back to when Scholar was in charge. The club got in a mess then and has never completley recovered.

 

Levy forced Pleat and Hoddle to work together when everyone knew the didn't get on from back in 87. He then appoints director of football but doesn't let him choose the manager.

I have actually said some nice(ish) thinks about Spurs this season. Read my postings.I save my ire for that bunch of scumbags from Old trafford!

 

I think Tottenham will do better this season. I agree with the comments about the Spurs board. They seem to have made one giant [****!!****] up after another.

 

Anyway why bring Alex Ferguson into the conversation - I assume that is the manager you are talking about.

Spurs will be losing their 3rd london derby on the spin tomorrow .And in the words of martin luther king I had a dream- spurs going down west ham replacing them .The only london derbys spurs will have next season are millwall and watford.Martin Jol will be a disaster as was other foreign managers Ardilles (players couldn't understand him) Christian Gross(and he was)George Graham(Arsenal loyalties) None of them worked I'll Back Martin Jol for an O B E (out before easter)

I'll bet you £50 that Spurs are not relegated at the end of this season. Ardiles was manager to appease the fans (as was Hoddle and I always said they were bad appointments), Graham is a dinosaur. Gross ...?????!!!!!

This time a better decision has been made. A top ten finish and a good cup run this season will suffice and a challenge (not neccesarily getting there) for Europe the sweason after. In season 3 Europe is a must or it is yet another failure. Somehow, I don't think so this time! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/excited.gif" alt="" />
