What the hell is going on!!!

Recommended Posts

Rumours are coming out that Paul Harrison has left the club as programme editor and PR guru.

Only Dave H can tell us if he will ressurrect the club website, but nobody on this forum will blame you Dave if you give the club the big 2 finger salute.

Aitkin has gone, no public reasons given.

Uncertainty over the Scally/Aitken/gravesham Council affair.

are we staying or sharing or rebuilding?

we are the paying fans - we need answers.

It is not too long to the halfway point in the season and STILL no official website. Professional or what.

If Whitebucket can do such a tremendous job as a hobby, why the hell cannot the club get it right.

Shearer gone - no reason given , but we all have our suspicions.

Romould Boujadi gone - no reason given.

With the club having had it's best start for 25 years, and with crowds now averaging over 1550 WHY can't the club get its public relations right?.

I think the Board need to have a serious huddle and GET IT SORTED, and quickly, before it all falls apart!!!

In Andy and Ade we have as fine a management team as we have ever had.

If the Backroom boys cannot get their politics sorted out, it probably won't be too long before Andy and Ade get pi**ed off with the who thing and move on!

Must admit, its all a bit worrying at the moment. People disappearing from our off the field activities, as well as , disappearing players from the squad, all with no official comment.

Couple this with the Gills / ground share rumours it seems the board have to resolve a few things.

They have not let us down recently, just hope they know what they are doing.

Can I just say a big thankyou for all your support on this website regarding my media/pr efforts at the football club. Without wishing to sound sycophantic you are among the best football fans I have met. I really do appreciate it.

At present my remit is solely the programme and Safety Officer role. Obviously, I am trained and qualified in pr/media work and have worked at many football clubs hence understand the route we must take to improve our communications with both the fans and the media as well as businesses communities. Naturally, I want to head an enthusiastic team who produce the best programme in the game, the best website and a thriving club call line which provides real information. I want GNFC to appear regularly in the newspapers(local and national)with positive news, it is achievable

and will greatly enhance the profile and hugely increase the potential earning power of this club.

I also want to hold regular forums between football club officials and the fans, how would you feel about attending such an event if I could organise it with club management? It would be an opportunity for two way communication.

The football club is obviously going through a transitional period at present, one which I am certain we will come through as a much better and stronger unit. Please bear with us,I can promise you that everyone I know there is totally committed to making GNFC the best.

Finally, please take it as read, and I am red a GNFC red, that I have no immediate plans to leave the football club, I am a fan and will always give my best for everyone concerned with the club.

Come on you Fleet!

Thanks for your commments Paul.

Mr Aitken promised regular forums but we only had 2 in the end! One with Fordy and the other with a selection of directors.

They were really well received and something I reckon will be well attended if sorted in the future.

Thanks for the information Paul.

Whilst not wishing to detract from the tremendous progress that the club has made in the last few years, I feel that the fans have been left in the dark a bit as to events on and off the pitch that have happened recently, as can be seen from the postings on this forum. It has not been helped by the demise/non appearance of an official Website this season, from which the masses often look towards for information and comments from the Board and/or officials of the club.

I am sure that Brian, his fellow directors & yourself are working towards correcting the lack of Official Website and flow of information. It's nice to have the Footy Mad & White Bucket sites as alternatives & very good they are to, but the fans need to be kept informed of developments as and when situations arise.

I also think that the forums are an excellent idea and perhaps Andy could resurrect his periodical report also ?

Onward & Upwards.......

Regards,

A sincere thank you Paul, for putting the record straight. You are a breath of fresh air in the club, and all us "out there" can look forward to a honest flow of information from the club.

all of want the very best for the Fleet, both on and off the pitch, and it is understandable why we get a bit vexed when we have to rely on second hand information, rumour and gossip, when a simple statement of fact keeps us all enlightened.

C'MON you REEDDSSS!!!!

Thank you Paul and keep up the great work. I hope you can soon make an impression on the official website, excellent though your efforts on Footymad are and in due deference to the wonderful Whitebucket site. The 'Fleet may have "sunk" to 9th place in the table, but I believe we are still the top part-time team in the country. This enviable placing has come about through the efforts of a great many hard-working individuals as well as the team, and without resort to any bank-rolling. I'm sure there are many fans out there who can recall us being about the 10th best team in Kent back in the late 60s.
