Considering that you made your entire first-team redundant (the words used on your own forum at various times), doesn't the signing of a new workforce (ie players) break the law? I would have thought that you wouldn't be able to sign any players for 6 months!

Maybe somebody could clarify this confusion?

You are missing the point of my question - it doesn't matter if they are a free transfer - surely if you sign anybody to be employed by the club (ie to play football), then they are taking up a position that belonged to somebody that your club made redundant?

If the term redundancy applies then you can't replace anybody made redundant with a new employee for 6 months.

That is why I asked if the players that were released (because you could no longer afford their wages) were made redundant or not.

Not one for kicking a man when he's down but Hornchurch lost at home to Dorchester tonight 2-3...Jeff Stelling on Sky said that Hornchurch were the Chelsea of non league football before their recent troubles but now are the Accrington Stanley of non league football !! I bet they wish they were !! I'd be a bit pissed off if I was an Accrington fan !!

More like the Fleetway Printers of non league football !! ( no offence Fleetway lads !!)

Cheers,

Nothing wrong with Fleetway Printers.
They were once a fine side - with a particularly outstanding 'keeper. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Fleetway were even mentioned in last week's programme by their former midfield dynamo (!?) Mr F.

On the subject of mean defenders, you must be talking about Andrew C ?

He still hasn't bought me a beer !!

It's surprising how many of us ex Fleetway players are still about and

congratating at Stonebridge Road !!

Happy days !!

Cheers,
