Shame about the crowd i thought it would have reached 2500.

Yes, tut tut to Carlisle for not bringing closer to 1000 for the short trip... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Why Carlisle fans, i was amazed Carlisle brought that many that is a nightmare journey to make.

What about some more locals or is that to much to ask, or is that tut tut to Gravesend it is a long trip.

Still what's it matter you got 2000 odd be happy.

Despite the scoreline I enjoyed the game. Thought everyone played well especially Drury and well done to him shame about hitting the post! Also thought that lovell put in a good performance at left wing. Would be good to see how he gets on if Andy gives him another game. Glad to be having a week break from important games. I think the players need it, and should provide us with fresh players ready for tamworth. Wel done to Carlisle for bringing so many fans, their fans I spoke to in the plough were very nice.

Lets move forward and hopefully a win against Tamworth will get us going again for the winter months

It was very good to see our attendance over 2000 (first time in the league since Canvey at home in the Ryman?), although it was clearly to do with the amazing Carlisle support more than anything else.

I'm just going to put my anorak on and clarify this. Our biggest home league attendance since Canvey in the Ryman was in fact the 2036 who saw us lose 2-1 to Daggers in the 2002/2003 season.

Despite kind words from this Carlisle fan on confguide, I have to say our lack of quality in front of goal compared to Carlisle's means we didn't really deserve anything from the game - despite good displays from Jukebox and Pinns as already mentioned. Macca's absence cost us somewhat today (I didn't think I'd be saying that after some of the below-par performances we saw from him last season), for with Jay in defence, the midfield had an unfamiliar feel to it. Credit must go to the visitors for three very well-taken goals, even though we were caught somewhat short at the back for the first and third of them.

I fear FF's words on Shears may well be right - we have of course witnessed players given the sudden cold shoulder by Andy before, such as Lew Watts. If a bust-up is at the heart of this, as Richard C says, it probably wouldn't be right to call Shears back at the end of the month, but it doesn't disguise the fact that not replacing both him and Romauld may well cost us. To release Romauld when Andy presumably knew full well that Porter wasn't going to be available for yesterday's game is somewhat confusing. Ade's place on the substitutes' bench yesterday underlined just how stretched we are at present.

We've had some tough games lately, and having got very little from them, even more importance has been placed on the Tamworth game in a fortnight - the sort of game we really need to win to get back on track, even though their relatively good home form is a concern.

According to source there was no bust up, just dover repeatedly asking for him to go after the initial interest when he trained with them in the week and then played for us that weekend. As he is loved by the Dover fans (so i'm told)

So did i, but had to say something about the lack of interest from local people.

The amount of cars parked outside the ground on a matchday shows how many people travel to watch The Fleet. I know of only a handful of folk who actually live within spitting distance of the ground that can be bothered or have any inclination to go to a game. I even offered a mate from the pub my free entry voucher but he prefered to stay in the warm, get drunk and prepare to watch Arsenal on Sky. I've said it before in previous threads, the apathy in the area is astounding. Believe me, I've tried all sorts to get locals down there. Its the proverbial brick-wall, mate.

But surely even if a club keeps asking after a player, there is no reason why the club in possession of that player has to give in? There has to be more to it (although I of course don't claim to know the facts myself).

On this subject, there will be one less bike chained up outside the game at the next home game , as one of the guys who always cycles down had it nicked on Saturday.

As its a long way to Carlisle I think we can safely assume that it wasn't any of their contingent who were short of the bus fare home, so it looks like it is our friends whom live within spitting distance but don't come to the games.

For all the others who ride their bikes to the ground, be warned.

also, the renault garage have become "hot" on preserving their spaces, of which there are about 100. When was the last time that place or any car showroom had tens of people in it. gits. NNEVER BUY RENAULT. I could understand it if we got 10,000 every week and they were losing custom, but honestly...........what a joke. I have only ever seen about three other cars park there on matchdays!

Spot on.

Credit to the loyal fans who attend week in/week out. Impossible to drag more then 3 of us down to Stonebridge Road (ironically couldn't attend Carlisle game due to emergency callout for work).

Once tried to organise an away game for some mates at Forest Green last season, people looked at me like I was mad.
