The council own it but we lease it each month....if we don't keep up with payments the council won't let us play there...simple as that HOWEVER I AM NOT SURE ON THIS SO DON'T QUOTE ME ON IT AND THIS IS NOT SOLID 100% FACT

as far as i am aware, we have recently signed a 10 year extension on the lease to bridge avenue.

 

whether this has been paid or not is another matter entirely...

 

Every cloud though, I am hugely proud of the solidarity of the supporters who attended what initially felt like a wake last night.

 

As bridgey put in another thread, this is not an end, merely the dawning of a new era, a new beginning, we need to look forward now, not dwell on the recent events with bitterness. Now is our time to make a difference as supporters.

If it's any consolation, when Romford were sharing at the Stadium, we had the same sort of agreement with the Council. The monthly installments were not enormous at the time - it is to be hoped that the Council didn't jack the price up when it became apparent that there was a few bob available.

Boro's Supporters Club often funded this expense on behalf of the Club and it would be a good starting point for Urchins Supporters to get involved in making a contribution - paying this bill will at least ensure that you have a ground available to play on!
