Oldest trick in the book.

 

Liquidise, wait, re-name and hey presto, there's the company again.

 

Years ago, when we had a Tory govt, registering your companies assets abroad meant not paying capital gains tax. There was another loophole which left companies with the option of going into voluntary liquidation to avoid a slap on the wrist.

 

The company will be back, perhaps with a different name, but all the same faces.

 

No, Boston won't get a bye. Hornchurch will be there in the FA cup, of that I have no doubt.

 

By the way, I was chatting with an insurer broker today (oooo, get me) and he guesses that something iffy was going on at Hornchurch - by that I mean some possible "money-laundering" type scenario.

 

Any truth in it? Maybe, maybe not. It was only his educated opinion, not a fact (if any lawyers are reading).

 

Not hard to do.

 

I know how easy it easy to do with Cars, jewellery, houses, etc. Must be a sinch to do it with a footy club.

I don't doubt trading will still continue - under a new name - and the main man will not lose out because of this loophole.... It's everyone else who loses out!

i did have the same feeling a few months ago,something someone said to me,but its over now and the club must go on!
