Uncle Urchin

apologies for not being able to get on here earlier...I trust that you will understand...

the full story can wait and I will give it to you in due course...but suffice to say that the events this week were unstoppable and as a businessman I could do nothing to alter the course of those events....

a wonderful roller coaster ride has ended and I am a sad and sorry that we have let you down...It has been an amazing experience and we shall always remember those times....

from the ryman 3rd to the top of the conference south has been one of the best experiences of my life...hopefully yours too.....this is not the end ...only the end of the beginning...the club shall survive and move on...

another era will start and more wonderful experiences will be had in due course.....

yes....it will be difficult for the rest of this year but the club will lick its wounds and move on....as Jennie and I will do also...

Our thoughts are with you guys....keep your chins up and keep the Urchin faith...

Uncle I feel genuinely sorry for you - but I will no doubt be unable to resist the temptation to wind up some of your more undesirable posters.

Question is - when a business is run on such an untrue plane, with income not even coming close to matching expenditure without rely on 'sponsorship' (as some of your supporters desribed the finances) could anybody really expect any other outcome, albeit not so soon?

It's a shame that whilst some of your fans, just like Telford, had their heads buried in the sand, other genuine supporters suffer the heartache.

PS Chester will no doubt be next.....

I'd just like to echo the sentiments of others posted on here, specifically to Unc and Jen, that everything works out, and as the real Urchins have said, the club is the most important thing. Make sure it survives by supporting in every way you can. We've been there, we're still going through it, but we're hanging on in there if you need any evidence it can be done.

All the best to you all.

Uncle,

Thank you for taking the time to come on the forum, it has been a hard day for us, but I am sure that you must have had a difficult week for you.

I would personally like to thank you and the rest of the club for all of the good times that I and my family have experienced over the past three years.

regards

DTC

So no apology to the people (players, restaurant staff, ground staff...) who relied on your income and have no wages for the month past... I doubt you are in the same boat Unc.

The fans should feel angry that promises have been made and taken away without any notice whatsoever. It'll need a lot more than licking of wounds!

I am shocked the news has been taken so well. I am sure the unpaid players and managers left at the club, still sorting the mess and picking up the pieces are not so forgiving!

I for one know where the club was before Unc came along, and yes we did manage to get by on 15 to 20K a year, and the way things were going we were about to pull out of the Ryman and go for the essex sen. the rest will now be history, so lets hope we can rebuild again, or for me its back to 30 surporters the bloke and his dog. only then did the dog get in for free.....so so watch this space !!!!!1

I have to say I am utterly gutted. Many a time we have shared a beer Unc and everything always seemed to be on the up and up?! Surely you must have known for months that this was not the case. As a fan I feel genuinely cheated. Yes, you have done great things, no question, but where does that leave the club now? I am utterly gutted and I have to say that there is a sour taste in my mouth.

Sorry if that's not what you want to here right now but I am a beliver in being frank and upfront and thats just the way I feel.

Can't believe it...

Guy's i have just come back from the the club and the URCHIN story will continue. With or without UU a new begining has risen tonight. If we have to play the youth team then so be it. Hornchurch as a club will continue.

Our support for the club we all have grown to love has to continue and after what i have witnessed tonight we can only get stronger.

Many thanks to all the staff for being there tonight. It's been a very sad day, but we will come out of this a stronger unit beleive me!!!
