One week too late!

Wow, we all knew the gravy train would stop somewhere but not this soon.

I'm guessing we may see a few of their ex-players turn up here, also if the club can't compete in the F.A. Cup will we get their place!?

I think this is one for the lawyers. The Hornchurch statement says that the players and staff received pay cheques on Tuesday but these were stopped. If this means the players were unpaid on the Saturday, in breach of contract, does this have implications for their registration?

I'm just wandering how they are going to do that if they haven't got any players at the moment?!?

Wouldn't they just have to forfeit the game and Bostobn would win 3-0?

Next question what does this mean for the carthium cup? altho people might not be taking it seriously I was looking forward to a straight knockout no replays competition. Especially with a tuesday night home game then possibility of a second tuesday night home game

They still 'technically' have the players from the first team, and definitely have all the youth team, so they can compete in the FA Cup.

As regards their players ending up here, I doubt we could afford them!!!

A bit of dignity is in order I feel. While they clearly had a few idiots who post crap everywhere, of which we also have at times , I d hate to think if we were in the same trouble we d have people rubbing it in here . Like them or loathe them they still have a group of real fans who im sure are really hurting. Its not there fault who runs their club.

I trust your chairman is camped outside F A HQ. Tamworth lost out at 4th qual to Telford last year and then watched them get all the glory of a Cup run.

The F A have got to take a stand and tell Hornchurch if they can't fulfill the league program they ain't in the cup

It's just cheating

Did you speak to all of them then? and what could they really do anyway?

No & nothing. However, just like Telford, whenever the subject of going bust one day was ever mentioned, the suggestions were scoffed at.

Call me heartless, but the club has now got its just desserts. Playing above a level that can be truly supported financially is cheating. Leeds deserved to be relegated for the very same reasons.

Just be glad that we have somebody sensible at our club in the shape of our chairman!

With all due respect - Telford's financial support hadn't hit the wall at that stage. As for kicking Hornchurch out - the possibilty is there if they cannot fulfill their league fixtures - according the rules on the FA website.

I feel for the genuine fans, (whom I sat with in the first half on Saturday, and had a very pleasant conversation with). I pointed out that they shouldn't rely on an anoymous bankroller, and they tended to agree, and they realised their level of finances were unsustainable in the Conference, given wage capping.

HOWEVER, they did have a lot of pond life on the East terrace, which, in spite of denials, were of a foul mouthed and racist nature. I guess they will desert Hornchurch straight away.

Taking all things into consideration, I think we should feel sorry for the supporters, but not the greedy board members, mananger or players.

They have priced themselves out of the ordinary market.

This whole sordid story should be a salutory lesson to all clubs who gloat over "loadsamoney".

Ask Sittingbourne, Telford and Hornchurch. Grays will be next, mark my words.

Just to stop the speculation we have been in touch with the FA so that we know where we stand, and provided that the players that they use next Saturday at Boston have been correctly registered with the club then the FA are happy.

The deadline for registration is the Friday before the match so they have over a week to get a team together. They probably have sufficent players available to be able to field a side, but if not I'm sure that they will be able to find some.
