Word getting round is that they are in the [censored]. Sponsors gone bust. No money, team up for sale. Is this all a wind up or what?

See conference south forum for more reactions !!!

Statement from Hornchurch Football Club

04/11/04 05:07 PM

Thursday 4th November 2004

Late last evening, the chairman Gary Calder and manager Garry Hill were informed that there would no longer be the funds available to sustain Hornchurch FC.

Players and staff were issued wage cheques on Tuesday, but these were all stopped.

Gary Calder said, "The party is over and the rollercoaster ride has come to an end. The club will continue playing football and will compete in the FA Trophy and the FA Cup. We are absolutely devastated".

Manager Garry Hill said "I feel the same as each and every person connected with this football club. I am empty inside. The league table doesn't lie, we all thought that we could take the club to the next level. After all it's November and we've only lost one league game. Everyone connected with club, the staff and players have worked hard and we need the supporters to rally round."

Coach Kevin Hales said "It's not just the players and staff, it's their families as well. It's been a really traumatic day and we need 24 hours to clear our heads. Who knows what might happen, but there might be someone who will come forward and ask to take control of the club. We will be taking advice from everybody and we will see which way the ship steers next"

At the present time, Gary Hill remains the manager of Hornchurch FC

Ends.

Seems a prety quick finish to them there was no warning of anything quite a shock but then again couldnt see how they could afford the team they had in the conf south with no real source of revenue there gates wernt awe inspiring to say the least but yet there were rumors of them haveing a wage bill the size of some 1st & 2nd div teams i mean wtf ?

Seems the lesson is not to rely soley on a sugar daddy to finance you, but live within your means however ambitious your plans.

How must the poor Hornchurch fans feel on the end of such a good season to date. Even though I know some of them were reasonably unpleasant, I know there must be some good uns in there, so I feel for them.

There but for the grace of God go we.

Just hope the domino effect does not happen and Gate get caught up in it.

It was fairly obvious with Hornchurch though that this would happen sometime but not this early!!

Trust KP et al can keep us going and again we should recognise the prudent stewardship of the current board (frustrating though it is)and trust they can keep it going until the developers money kicks in .

Thanks to the Board-alllelulah

Do not let us down now TDC.

Share sympathy for their fans.

Having said that, i wonder if we could get Dammon Searle on loan for a month to cover at full back, and maybe sign Caskey to strengthen midfield

I did read that Hornchurch have allowed all their players to go on free transfers.

If only we could get Searle here for a month to cover our full back crisis.

Will be a bit annoying if Gravesend get reinstated in FA Cup though.

Seem to remember that CK said at the beginning of the season that the high spenders could be in trouble by Xmas. If this is true its two down how many more to go. As for the rest Micheal Micheal, HERE,HERE.
