This is always one of the most difficult things to think of!!! Also I am coming from a time period of the early 80's through to 1999!

So I like to break it down and also add my worst to the picture too!!!

GK

Best: Trevor Bunting (thought about Wilkerson but the loyalty factor tipped it with Bunts)

Worst: Sean 'skippy' Lahiff (wonderful guy, tried 110% but wasnt up to it)

 

Defender

Best: JEFF (not Steve!) Bateman (solid as a rock and loyal to the core)

Worst: Danny 'spoonfoot' Nwakolo (the original and worst spoonfoot)

 

Midfielder

Best: Steve Thompson (need I say more!!)

Worst: Colin Fielder (big price, big head, waste of time waste of space!!!)

 

Striker

Best: Mark West (the man was in my opinion class personified in front of goal)

Worst: Morrys Scott (would have had trouble hitting a cows [****!!****] with a banjo!)

 

Overall Team:

Best: 1997/98 What a great squad, excellent players and a great team atmosphere.

Worst: 1993/94 A hotch-potch of washed up pros, has beens and never would have beens!!

 

Manager

Best: Brian McDermott- A great motivator and coach

Worst : Les Briley - 93/94...need I say more!

For me some of my best memories were of the 97/98 season, the band and the incredible atmosphere of Away games...(home games never did really get the pulse racing did they!!)

Just a little bit of info here re: Brian McDermott's Slough playing days...he never actually played more than a couple of games when he first took over Management...mainly I think to get to know the players...and he played for Slough Schools in his younger days...correct me if I am wrong please!
