Best Slough Player Ever...

without a doubt terry reardon-then probably steve thompson.i would say that slough have had far too many better strikers than tony boot-its not his fault, but he would not be in the top ten best strikers for slough i'm afraid.

Best player I have seen in a Rebels shirt is Steve Thompson by a country mile, and if you were to do a poll i'd guess he'd finsih top three easily.

Saw Thommo though when I was very young, apart from him i'd go for Westy, Hazel and Hercules.

Just to do this once, I actually thought Steve Browne was a pretty decent player - it's just his management that was the problem in my opinon!!!!! Worst Slough player that Michael Ricah bloke who played in goal for us I think.

been watching with my pa since '88 and as memory serves.....Thompson (remember a hat trick against stalybridge celtic - we were on holiday and listening on the radio - you can imagine our heads go down when the commentator said "staylybridge celtic 3....." and our reaction when the score was completed "....Slough town 7"!!!, Sayer, Angus, Abbott, Brazil, Adams, Bunting, Mautone, Bolt, Hazel, Quamina (ONLY for his game against Wycome when he hit the bar THAT season), hardyman, palmer (when he played), pyesy and gary blackford together, fiore, ...........

Perhaps my mind is playing tricks but my abiding memory of Leo Sayer is him laying on the floor at Wexham Park moaning at the ref. A bit harsh maybe.

Terry Angus, was a legend, great defender with a very strange running style. There was the nice moment on the way back from Southport after THAT bloody lino cost us everything when the players coach and supporters coaches stopped at the same services. Terry lived in the midlands and was picking up his car and the players and supporters clapped each other.

Early, early years - Geoff Anthony, the midget Welshman. Later - Mark Fiore; "Billy" in his prime was a magician, and he was still magic when he played for me at Chalfont & Flackwell.

Reynolds in goal, John Delaney in defence.

Loved the team in the 60's under Bob Gibbs at the Dolphin.

Steve Thompson in attack.

Always will remeber Lloyd Owusu hareing down the wing at Ninian Park

Mark Fiore - a class player, a searing left foot, played a big role in the Football In The Community ... and ... he stayed with us through the turbulent times.

He should win the vote with his "Lob The Grobelaar" against Chesham United alone!

(PS. Marcus - remember Apex? Superb. ..LeedsUtd manager)

Here i will throw some in :

Rowan Dodds - Played at Wexham Park, trained at McDonalds

Gary Attrell - scored that goal against Millwall

TimTurl - solid defender

Eric Young - solid midfielder went onto better things

Micky Droy - same as above, played for Chelsea

David Kemp - probably the best striker we have ever had

Micky Chatterton - overweight but great goalscorer

Terry Brown - looked lanky but knew where the goal was

Lloyd Owusu - still think he is destined to go far if he can get more consistent

Terry Reardon - Best captain and hard but fair player

Ian Catlin - probably the toughest player Slough ever had

Trevor Bunting - grat goalstopper

Sloughs worst player in my book had to be Kieron Summers !
