Oi! Webbo! U O Me £1

AFF

Recommended Posts

Hi Webbo.

It's always good when a regular supporter wins Knocky's £20 scratch card thingy. It makes up for the times when someone wins who rarely gets to games. I gather that you won it last night. Well done mate. You might like to let me have £1 of it as I purchased a programme for that sum.

Now. I have in my head a broad outline of the playing staff of The Mighty Saints so our team line-up as printed was of little interest to me. No Grays players named. No pen-pics of our visitors. No reference to forthcoming fixtures. No interview with a Saint so I haven't been able to add to my collection of the favourite food/colour/number/popular song of any of the lads.

"But don't worry", I thought to myself. "It'll be worth the £1 to read the words of The Chairman".

[You know what's comimg Webbo.]

Imagine my surprise, Webbo, when I read the words printed verbatim on the web-site yesterday afternoon.

I suppose you're going to deny that you knew that "The Chairmans Statement" printed on the site yesterday was, in fact, his notes from the matchday programme?

Are you going to get to another game this season, mate? I'll take the £1 when I next see you.

AFF, I thought the two page article summarising the FA Cup results was worth the pound on its own. What a shame we aren't in it.

Has anyone checked the sign boards at the park this morning, yet? I'm desperately trying find out what our next game is.

I think that the answer you intend is "Yes" [you do deny that you knew that what you printed on the web-site was the Chairman's notes from the matchday programme.]

Answer this one then, you lap-dog.

You were at the match last night. Did you buy a matchday programme?

Hi JKiF.

The simple answer to your question is that they aren't. Always glossy affairs, that is. We see a number on our travels that aren't glossy. Bedford and Hayes, both excellent reads, are printed on err..err...ordinary paper.

Here's a question for you JKif.

Q. What two British Institutions best represent the triumph of style over substance?

[Look away now if you don't want to know the answer.]

Hi AFF

point taken... but those that arent tend to be knocked up in someones office, after hours, on a few sheets of photocopied A4 then stapled together by some out workers on the Cambridge Heath Road

as for the 2nd point very true.....
