.........Needless to say, I totally agree it should be come one, come all, but the powers that be clearly don't agree and find that it is giving ammunition for people to sour our relationship with Windsor.

Firstly can we ask who are the powers that be? And secondly, I would have thought that some of the comments from registered users, and I include myself, particularly in relation to the covering at the goal ends, are just as likely to stir up feelings with Windsor as anything I have read from our old friend "Anon"

And what about comments from Rebel Yell/Rouser? These have been likely to split our own club let alone Windsor!

I am puzzled........

That's nonsense. At the meeting the other day the example that was quoted was made by a Salisbury fan, not anything to do with Slough and if "the powers that be" are unable to distinguish between who's making comments, perhaps they shouldn't be reading the forum at all.

What's been said on here that's so derogatory to W&E? The only comment that's consistent is about covering behind the goals and the posts I've read are mainly constuctive in that respect anyway. Or at least I'd call £150 pledges from Slough supporters towards ground improvements constructive, anyway.

I'd love to understand what comments we are trying to get rid of and what will stop people making comments under a registered rather than an anonymous name anyway?! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Exactly Ian. I think it is plain daft. It will not stop negative comments and I have already heard from someone who is particularly narked about the decision who says that when he makes registered posts they will now all include something derogatory.

Additionally, one of our most common unregistered posters is Chris S. I have asked him about this before and it is because he posts from different computer terminals so is not always remembered by the log-in. So now are we going to be limiting the contribution of the secretary of the trust?

Who is putting you under pressure Gary? Have you been hearing from Mr. Deaner? Last I was aware it was FRUS that owned the club.

Also very poor timing as it is deflecting from a brilliant two weeks for the club when we should be pulling together to ensure the Walsall game is a huge success.

Finally, I think the website and linked message board are a great asset to the club. I am unaware of any financial contribution the club has made to the admin and set up of the site - so what is to stop us telling them to get stuffed and continue with unregistered posting?

Yes.

Not everyone gets on with computers - so why not just let them enter the site and post?

Will one off or infrequent posters even bother to register? No.

What is the point of doing this anyway? Who knows. It will not stop negative comments or criticism anyway.

This post can be taken as negative and critical.

I'd just like to thank everyone who has commented on the above. I plan to speak with the club about this as essentially by moving people off of this site, registered users only or not, there is more potential for snide comments to be made and we have a superb set of moderators on here in BFR and Chris should anything need to be moderated.

I'll work on getting business back to normal by this evening, but leave it registered users only for the time being.

Thanks for that Gary. Just to clarify my post was not meant to be critical of you. You and Chris have done a brilliant job in setting up the site as a whole. I just think the club were wrong about the need to make this registered users only.

I agree with Ian, Martin, and Chris, on this. The forum was not set up for the club, but for the fans even occasional posters. I think the club are being to touchy about this just tell then to but ou. This is not ment to be a criticism but i think Gary is to close to Roy if Steve Browne had ask Gary to do this he would have been told to pi** off. I will now try to do the best i can to pi** of the Windsor mob.
