I've four distinct choices tomorrow. Watch the game at home, or go to my local pub, go to 'The Fenton' pub near work or go to the Millenium Square in L**ds.

 

All have their merits but I reckon the 'Square' gets it. But only a Seven Thousand capacity will mean leaving home about 5.30am. Cruel ! Still, surely it'll be worth it - I'm going 3-1 to England.

Big screens outside the Woodville Halls anyone?? The open air car park in Lord Street wouldn't be a bad place to have giant screens - then again could we handle the excitement of such an event in the town, the regatta is exciting enough!!!!!!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Get Andy to give Sven a ring and tell how we did it at Canvey and Aldershot, start as they mean to carry on, go straight for the jugular and don't let them settle.

The mood is tense....90 minutes are up....the sides cannot be separated in normal time...Tony Blair doesn't know what to do (!).....extra time commences...and then....a bit of Brazilian magic......Trevor Sinclair scores the golden goal with a brilliant overhead kick...and England march on !!

 

Hope I don't "peak too early" in the pub tomorrow and miss it !!

I was going to watch the game in the office on a big screen, but I think I might stop in Trafalgar Square instead - should imagine the atmosphere there will be electric, although whether it can match the Koreans the other night, I rather doubt as that would take some doing !!

England can't settle early on. Rivaldo crosses the ball into the area and Ronaldo scores on fifteen minutes. England defend stoically for the rest of the half, but Brazil can't break through the English defence.

 

Second half England are rejuvenated, Owen scores on the fifty-fifth minute from a Butt and Beckham combination.

Extra time is looming, but Owen is brought down just outside the penalty area.

Beckham floats the free-kick into the box, Heskey makes contact, the keeper panics but manages to punch the ball clear. It falls to Sheringham, he fires it into the net, taking a deflection off of an out-stretched Brazilian leg, it leaves the keeper stranded.

 

2-1 to England!
