....An Exeter City fan writes on thier FA Cup game with Braintree at the weekend....

 

Never have i seen a team use such blatent negative ways to cheat. I have no problem with teams coming to defend and play for a draw, thats fair enough, but they did not play at all. Time wasting from the first minute, some terrible examples.

 

1. Ball goes out for our corner, ball boy places ball in the quadrant, our player jogs over to take the corner. Braintree sub warming up picks up the ball and throws it down the line.

 

2. Ball goes out for our throw, Ball boy gives a ball to our player, Borg kicks another ball on the pitch.

 

3. Ball goes out for our throw, Ball boy gives a ball to our player, subsitiute throws another on the pitch, goes to one of his team who throws it back but cant throw it hard enough for it to leave the pitch (5 yards away - why not kick it).

 

Add all this into being very slow to make subs, going down and requiring the trainer for every challenge. Getting a head injury then LIMPING from the pitch, oh but to the furthest touchline. It was so blatent it was embarressing. The ref was weak, very weak.

...And if you read on the Braintree forum, they find this entertaining and praised the team for a good performance...lol. Well I supposed it's better than watching scarecrows!!!

Would have thought they would have been disappointed that they didn't manage to get at least a couple of players sent off....

...and there's more. A K's fan writes on last nights game at Brainless...

 

And the Braintree directors/officials were a disgrace to their club with their constant abusive language towards both match officials and in particular our fans in the main stand.

 

First club I've ever come across to refuse all press access too. Will be interesting to see how they explain that to three newspapers and the league...

I'll be interested to see the odds for the game as I think you are in with a great shout, given their heads might still be in the clouds regarding the Man Utd game.
