The Non-League paper

Recommended Posts

Today's non league paper has a good article on page 6 about the relationship between JK and Stimson. In it JK quotes " I don't want to take anything away from Gravesend and Northfleet. They did a great job in pipping us to the title". He goes on to say his team were guity of arrogance. Every supporter who has watched Canvey in the last 3 years could have told him that.

Perhaps the big fellow is mellowing a little? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Yes there were some letters in that paper a few weeks back, at least one from a local , about Canvey's general arrogance, though what they've got to be arrogant about I don't know, and how they are the most hated team in the Ryman.

Its been mentioned on their message board, they got the right hump about it!

I can understand the general frustration of the Canvey faithful, at the constant digs at their club. Cos' they probably have the same feelings but are remaining loyal to the yellow cause.

The arrogance stems from the Managers / players, the extortionate cost to visit their ground eminates from the Board, and the crap ground is a legacy from their humble beginnings.

There is very little the Canvey faithful can do about any of that..

You seem to be going soft in your old age !!

First, heard muttering at the Jubilee that ma'am ain't so bad after all and now spouting off about feeling sorry for the Canvey faithful !

Seems to me that you're getting Fleet withdrawal symptoms, bring on the new season so normality and mild militantcy can be restored.

PS. Anyone know if any of our new signings are bearded, or facial hair of any kind ? <img src="http://www.longdog.org.uk/smilies/pimp.gif" alt=" - " />

'76 - a poor year - The explosion of punk and the end of an era for many of our bearded superstars.

However, true greats like young Kenny Burrett stayed loyal to not only the Fleet but to the bearded cause. Top man, and its men of his ilk that we will need next year !

PS. Your sympathy for Canvey still hasn't sunk in yet, have you been unwell lately.

Indeed Lew Watts has no hair at all as far I recall. It's a worrying trend, but one I trust the World Cup is on its way to reversing, since most of the Koreans resemble Paul Calf with their high-quality 'Kajagoogoo' ensembles atop their heads, and the Japanese have an array of 'styles' that would make Fleet stars of the 70s weep tears of sheer joy.

Certainly been a good world cup on the hair do front, with more mohicans, mohawks and hair dye than the Kings Road on Sunny Saturday afternoon at the height of the punk explosion.

What price Liam Hatch donning a red mohican for next season ! He'll have the conference boys running scared ..

Keep the beardies out, bring on the mohicans !
