Well, personally, I'm glad.

I think though it may be a split vote.

Some think he did well managing a constantly

reducing squad (we were losing around 100k

per week).

Others, myself included think his style of dour

football was just too depressing to stomach.

His view was, we start with a point (0-0), let's

try and finish with a point.

We are used to changing managers, 8 in 10

years (this is probably where we are going wrong).

Yer poor old Lou. I always found myself defending him at the post match drink.

I reckon the vast majority of Town fans will be glad to see him go. But as has already been said it's not good changing managers very time you decorate the kitchen.

I thought he did a solid job in very difficult circumstances and I feel a lot of our fans didn't and still don't realise the dire financial state we are in. We had to sell to survive. Lou actually paid for transport to some away game last year out of his own pocket.

Trouble is at Hudders we had our expectations raised when money appeared not to be a problem - the harsh truth is we're an average Second Division club. Skint and hoping we can raise the palce again with a new man with new ideas.

Plus, it would be great to see us play "football' again

Steve Coppell has been talked about ever since our play-off encounter with Brentford last season! - and he's available!

Peter Jackson, a former player and manager and much loved by the fans cos' he apparently loves us. I guess he could be strongly in the frame. He'd be popular a very choice but now 'Jacko' has a new 'Sky TV' media career. Have you seen him? He's bloody terrible?

Personally, Mark Lillis would be my choice- WHO? I hear you cry?

Mark played for us in the early to mid 80's and did well ( a Boxing Day near post header at Helland Road, springs vividly to mind) and was eventually transferred (isn't that our total history?) to Man City where he also became a mini hero. He finished his playing at Derby County and maybe Halifax (memory?)

He's actually well regarded as a coach these days and he's back at Derby as first team coach under John Gregory, having had a short spell with Scunthorpe as Assistant Manager and Hailfax as Manager.

I have it on very good authority (a friend of his wife) that Mark would love to manage again and in particular the famous Hudderfield Town who he loves deep in his heart. (it's the truth!) To be honest, I'm not sure he's a 'front man' sort of lad but his coaching along side a 'media type' could be good. Jacko and Mark?

We'll see?

BB I think we'll end up with Brian Little

Others that have been mentioned:

Kieran O'regan

Ronnie Jepson

Alan little

Basically, we have no money to spend so we

aren't likely to attract the likes of P Taylor (watford anyway?)

It was mentioned on the local radio that neither M Lillis or K Oregan have been asked.

Yet, I don't think the board will go out of their way to ask anybody, they'll just wait and see who apply's.

To give this post a little G+N twist, i'll be going

to the Shay in Nov 2nd as we are at Cheltenham and I am on nights.

Cheers Dude,

Real sensible stuff about the Terriers - thanks!

Great you're going to Halifax I reckon a load of Hudders fans will be there supporting the 'Might Fleet'. In truth I would have gone the Cheltenham (it's another ground an all that) but I've just got to go to Halifax!

'The Three Pigeons' here we come!

Yerrrrrr, there's quite a few Dave, The Corporation Taps, The St Leger, The Masons and the 'Sal' (The Salutation). And there's more.

I'll be going to the away games by train so I'll do a bit of research first.
