Putting the defeats behind us

Well I think it's now fair to say that our form recently has been pretty dire and that is in now way a surprise. The run of results we put together from last February to this September were sublime and now things have caught up on us. But now I think the club could go in two directions this season, we could revel in the disappointment of being knocked out of the cup and struggle to put recent results behind us. Alternatively, we could work extra hard against Carlisle on Saturday and over the next few weeks to cement a position in the top 5 of the league. I'm sure a few hard worked results would re-ignite that flame we had at the start of the season and start us on a few more runs.

And so therefore, this is a plea to everyone to get really behind the lads against Carlisle on Saturday. It's probably been said before but if everyone tried to bring one new person that doesn't regularly come to the Fleet, we could in theory double attendances! Of course this would never happen, but people on this forum alone would most probably have the ability to add atleast 100ish onto the attendance. That'd be pretty beneficial. I believe we can still be hopeful of breaking the 2000 mark on Saturday and lets all contribute.

Also, anyone who fancies a bit of singing behind the goal but never bothers, do bother! Lets get everyone out the bar early and start singing at full strength from the start, not 10 mins after <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hopefully todays game and getting knocked out the cup will be the kick up the [****!!****] that we need to get us going again. Carlisle whould be a good game and a good attendance as they will brign a lot? Although would love to have a good attendance without them needing to bring a lot!!

Well, I shall be doing my bit, too: I shall be bringing 2 people from work (Welling fans) & an old friend from my distant student days (still basking in Fulham's win over Tottenham.) About time my 4 season long jinx of Fleet always losing whenever I bring guests is broken.

We will need to be at our noisiest. Carlisle will bring a large & very noisy following & easily out shout us if we allow ourselves to be quietly down in the mouth after recent results. But they'll mostly be out in the open where the noise tends to "evaporate," so we have to ensure we take full advantage of the resonance factor of that roof.

With Charlton and Gills away (although Charlton are only at Spurs), we again have the potential to pull in a rweally decent crowd. Lets just hope the run of dodgy results wont stop too many neutrals coming down to give our lads some support - with a bit of luck, I'd like to think we could get 2500 plus on Saturday.

Thanks for bringing that up UG!

As for Alan's attendance prediction, I wouldn't want to say we definitely won't get 2500, but I only hope our recent poor run of form doesn't count against us.

Serious Question?

Where you thinking of going full time if you average gates of 2000?

No one with crowds under 2500 can support a full time side indefinately.

We are no different.

we would get 3000 in our ground for carlisle at home, bit of temporary seating in for comfort and all that, the urchins will be the biggest non league club in the south east within 2 years
3-2 boys

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh dear. All this couldn't of happened to a nicer buch of people. Oh well time for me to continue to support a club that realises a Football club is the root of a comunity and not some rich-bloke-nobody to take control of and express his weight by splashing the cash.
