Hall, Campbell, Baldwin, Gant, Snowden, Negus, Allen, Hall, Smith, Ridout, Nyman, Hall, Riley, Brotherton -----

 

The pitch was in poor condition and the sun was low in the sky to make defending at one end awkward.

 

Lee Enfield took no prisoners to day as he rifled the ball into the net 4 times in the first half to destroy Concord Rangers. He opended up after 10 minutes in a goal mouth scramble with so much pace no one could have stopped it. Then on 14 and 16 minutes he scored similar goals from different positions before just before half-time getting his 4th. He could do no wrong!

 

David Allen was causing all sorts of problems from early on as he settled back into a familiar roll for Town.

 

At half time Graeme Hall came on for Paul Campbell and Kevin Riley for Johnny Ridout.

 

Second half David Allen just missed chipping the keeper on 3 minutes. A few minutes later Dean Nyman crossed for David Allen to make a flying header just missing the net.

 

Bradlet Brotherton was then sub for Dean Nyman. Soon after Lee Smith was uncharacteristically saved by keeper Louis Green. On 28 minutes a corner came in and Graeme Hall headed into the keepers arms. On35 minute David Allen skinned the defence and was brought down in the box but nothing given by Mr Eglington. 5 minutes later Kevin Riley Ran in and was brought down surely this would be a penalty no. On 42minutes David Allen Crossed for a sliding Brad Brotherton to just miss.

 

A very enjoyable game for Town fans, 3points for the first time ever in the league at Concord Rangers and the first ever four goals to one player.

 

Great stuff. If you missed it you missed a stonker!

Bit disappointed in the fact that Smithy has not now scored for over 45 minutes!

 

Great finishing from quality deliveries. Just shows what can be done by running at defenders and crossing the ball to players in the box. Smithy's 4th was a gem. Good run down the wing, excellent cross and what a finish!

 

More please next week at Hullbridge.
