Zeal's Scarfer Match Preview vs Basingstoke

Now I've got my scarfer list of all the games I've been to, I can give you some scarfer facts for tomorrow's game!!...

 

• I've been to ten matches between St Albans and Basingstoke since 1998. We have won five of these, drawn one, and lost four.
• Of the seven at home, three were won and three were lost.
• The biggest win of these came in January 2000, when the Saints won 4-1. It was the first match following the resignation of manager Bob Dowie - maybe a good omen for tomorrow?
• The last match I saw us lose 0-3 away was at Hampton in February 2001. The following game was, coincidentally, against Basingstoke Town. We lost 2-1.

Jeez, it's crap being a scarfer. Think I'm going to delete my file now before shooting myself.

I remember going very very pissed to The Camrose with Harry the Hornet and Pete just before Xmas a couple of seasons ago, we lost

Me and Hornet invaded Toys'r'us, I have a photo of him in some peddle car (I think we were asked to leave) we then covered Pete in streamers. I also brought a Xmas card for some bird behind the counter in Sainsburys and left my phone number on it and she text me that night but then she started banging on about church so I gathered that banging may of been out the question.

I really wanted to go, but it was Mrs Zeal's Christmas Work 'do' in the Cotswolds somewhere.

Ah, Basingstoke. My first vist there was in the eighties, spotted Tavs in his Volvo estate so followed him round several roundabouts and via some garages in a dead-end before eventually finding the ground.

 

No win over the Camrose boys since September 2001, I see. All square at 8 wins each and six draws. A good time to snatch a victory for Migs' merry men and any watching applicants. I'll be there!

Was this after you'd left the Church then Sniffer ? Sounds like it could have been a match made in heaven.

 

If only you hadn't been liberated! (But then I guess you wouldn't have been there with Pete and Hornet anyway.)

That Basingstoke game was also the day we stormed the players coach and got a lift to the side of the motorway before getting lobbed off and having to walk miles to the station
