Recommended Posts

Purely for info...

Born: St. Albans 20th September 1961

Height: 6ft

Weight: 14st

International Honours: Semi-Professional Cap, England Schoolboy.

'Mr. Barnet' or 'Sumo' joined Barnet for a fee of £12,500 from Reading in December 1989. He previously played for W.B.A, Brentford, Reading and Hereford. Gary had his testimonial at Underhill in 1995, against Brentford, he even managed to score a penalty. Gary became club manager in 1993, and steered Barnet through their finanicial problems - the first problems, that is. In total Gary Phillips played 435 times for Barnet in goal, and managed to score 4 goals (excluding several own goals). Gary says that he enjoyed his time as manager at Underhill, and would like another try some time in the future. He was made an Honoury Vice President at Barnet, and has managed Aylesbury, making an appearance on "They Think It's All Over" on T.V, and at Q.P.R in the F.A Cup.

Yes CZ. High flying Farnborough Town. Appointed earlier this season, I recall. I believe that he has a sports injury clinic, or fitness centre, or psychology therapy place in St Albans as his day job.

A very impressive track record as a player. He was at The Mighty Shrimpers for a couple of seasons I believe. I don't know what managerial experience he has.
