The demon chav culture speads it's wings.....

Maybe I am on me own with this one, but think GLC are a fairly humourous outfit.

Whilst musically they are not my cup of tea, I think the music scene is a better place with them around.

Fair play to them for supporting their local non league side.

Any local bands want to jump on the Fleet bandwagon?

All the members of Gravesends ex premier beat combo the Chuffin Billies, and the majority of the 60's throwbacks The People stand on the fleet terraces from time to time, but think we need some younger outfits to spread the message to the yoof of today.

Can't help agreeing with both of you there, the GLC album would no doubt get somewhat tiresome after a couple of hearings of their pseudo-rap crap. However, they were rather good at Reading, they did a very good job of getting a rock-orientated crowd in the mood for a bit of bling.

Also dont think id be complaining if a popular group showed an intrest in us, i mean the amount of publicty they are creating for Newport in the local area, probaly help increased the attendance of the amount of youths!

Exactly ...

For all you indie music fans. Great new band Kaiser Chiefs are on Soccer AM tomorrow morning, but unfortunately they are Leeds fans.

Surely we must have some celebrity endorsement out there.

The only high profile Fleet fan I know is the Manager of the Bedingfield siblings. But thats probably an endorsement we could do without !

I used to be in a band called the Screaming Greenies if that's any help...........ok, maybe it isn't but the name could be used to describe our away kit!!

Just as a matter of interest, I also played guitar for Tym D'Mova in the mid-nineties and The Worms (!) in the Seventies. The former & The Greenies used to gig regularly at The Wheatsheaf, Swanscombe and The Prince of Wales, Denton (or Prisoner of War as we called it!) Ah, the memories. Lucky I didn't give up the day job, though. We were crap!!!!!!

Ahh the memories of playing the Wheatsheaf...

We only lasted 1 night at the Wheatsheaf, despite packing the place with our loyal followers and giving them a a good nights bar takings ,we weren't asked back for some reason, nor paid !!

Apparently we werent the sort of band their regular clientele wanted.

If you look close enough on the walls on your next visit, you can still find remnants of the meat pies and assorted savory snacks that were thrown at us.

Some people just don't understand class...

We are still available for Xmas parties, weddings etc etc if anyones interested. However, and Pukka or Ginster products would require to be removed from the buffet first..

Perhaps he could get one of them to film their next pop video at Stonebridge Road & bring some more revenue into the club.....

.....or perhaps get Natasha down there on matchday - I'm sure that the crowds would increase. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/chloe.gif" alt="" />

Maybe even get one of them to do a modern day equivalent of 'Cheer on The Fleet' - I can see the video now - with the half-way liners singing gloriously in the background.....
