This would be a perfect oppertunity to let our feelings be known about Scully, make some banners someone could even make a guy fawks doll and make it out to look like Scully.

Why, do you think he will be there to see these banners, and if not, who are they aimed at.

Sorry Harry !

On a serious note, then -- Good luck against Carlisle.

I understand they are struggling somewhat - mainly financially.

I used to have to visit Carlisle once a month on business.

Always thought it a terribly depressing place, personally

Possibly the biggest league game the team have ever played (I might be wrong).

Depends what you mean by big. After all, Halifax at home a couple of seasons back and Bedford away the season before were quite 'big' games...

Yep, that's right. We're struggling to the extent that we've got no debts whatsoever and we're making profit.

What I meant was this team is the bigeest we have played in a league game. So yeah Halifax they are a big team but Carlisle were once a Div one team. Thirty years ago this very season in fact. Okay they went straight back down but still enjoyed themselves while they were there.

Is there anyone out there who saw that historic 1963 FA Cup tie? Nothing was mentioned about this in the NLP tonight (save for the last meeting score), but maybe there was something in the Reporter which I don't get these days. But then again maybe not!

January 29th 1963 to be exact TS, a goal by a certain Tony Sitford and then came the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, the Carlisle game was great as us poor Colyer Road kids who supported Fleet could hold our heads up, and for once no one took the piss out of Fleet.

As for a league game Carlisle without a doubt are the biggest club to enter the Conference.

Thanks Mepis. That must have been a fabulous day for you then kids, and although a tad before my time I was aware Sitford being the scorer. I guesss TS is synonomous with the best of 'Fleet history between the '57 championship winning side and the current brilliant Ford era. My first memory of him was in a visiting, then high-flying (and presumably bank-rolled dare I say) Darts outfit when both he and another ex-'Fleet star, Harry Easton scored in a 2-1 win. What strikes me now is how the game at all levels has changed, when I think that Sitford, and Darts captain Les Burns, both being significantly on the overweight side could shine in that lively and successful side of Ernie Morgan. I also remember TS scoring a goal against now defunct and then well-supported Guildford City (are they a city?) by bundling the goalie and ball over the line, a goal which would have been disallowed now.
