Superb result, Mr Collini proved what I've said all along, stop the Argies gamesmanship(?) and you stop them winning.

MOTM for me was Rio Ferdinand, solid and unflustered all the way through.

Batistuta and Ortega were up to their usual national standard of diving, fouling and cheating. And wasn't there some bad hair in that Argie team? It looked like the halfway liners circa 1974 (and I've seen the pictures). <img border="0" title="" alt="[big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

But did anyone else think it was like watching Northfleet? Chance after chance going begging and then the opposition camped in your half for 20 minutes? Scary stuff.

I think I saw Dave M's flag. It was in the corner at the end the Argies were attacking in the first half, and I just got a glimpse when they had that corner in the last minute of the first half.

Fantastic result - a team full of heroes out there today - would have given my marks out of ten for each man, but as they were all outstanding I'll give them all a ten - as I'm sure the tabloids will tomorrow! To pick anyone out I would say that Ferdinand and Butt were awesome and SInclair was excellent when he came on. Also, Danny Mills proved the critics wrong with a very sound performance today. Lets not get over - excited yet though - we still have a very important game on Wednesday. I'd hate to see all of that hard work undone against Nigeria but I'm sure we'll be professional and win the game and the group. Bring on Senegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. The Argies area bunch of cheats and the Falklands mind games did not pay off one bit. Final question - Was Veron injured or simply replaced, by Leo Sayer!!!!?????

...and it was all doom and gloom from the lads at work when I left work this morning - they thought that I was taking the 'p' when I said we'd do the Argies!

Have just spent a few days in that little bit of France which will always be America, Disneyland Paris.

No sign of any French shirts in the place at all!

Mind you, from a football point of view I wouldn't want to own up to being French at the moment.

On Friday I could not believe how many visitors were wearing England shirts around the parks. It was fantastic to see, long may it continue. Don't lose concentration lads let's beat Nigeria on Wednesday.

I didnt spot it in the original coverage, although I did see one from last seasons adversaries, Maidenhead

I watched the game with my daughter and we both yelled at the same time when we thought we spotted the flag at exactly the same time and in exactly the same place Dave spotted it. In fact we spent more time looking for the flag than we did watching the game.

There most certainly was at least 1 GNFC flag in the crowd, by the corner flag and if I'm not mistaken, was there another one in the same end. This one was more centrally positioned, as Beckham was focusing on his penalty, it just appeared above his right shoulder.

was great to see the argies reduced to long range efforts by the end of the game.

seaman hardly troubled, unless he had his car parked outside the ground at that end.....

that must have been some of the best defending we've seen from england, would be great to see similar performances from the fleet next season, with a few more goals the other end

Danny Mills was writing in The Guardian today about how the lovable Argies spat twice in his face, elbowed him in an off-the-ball incident, attempted to goad players in tunnel by laughing in their face, and then refused to swap shirts or shake hands at the end of the game.

Come on Sweden, knock these hairy south Atlantic primadonnas out for good!!!

Even the Argies goal today shouldnt have stood - the guy who put the rebound in was practically on the 6 yard line before the penalty was taken - no wonder he was first to the rebound !! ( Alright the 6 yard line is a slight exageration, but he was almost level with the penalty spot)
