I have to be honest, before today I'd always felt my national team were a bunch of wussies - especially as they had a worrying tendency to wear their shorts too short & their hair too long: it was so seventies. But today's victory has restored my faith in the US of A.

 

I've never liked the Portugese since the day Mr Garrison sent me home sick and I caught my mum having a private lesson with Mr *****os, her Salsa teacher and I thought that cissy of a goalkeeper of theirs really sucked ass in the first half. <img src="http://www.longdog.org.uk/smilies2/shakin.gif" alt=" - " />

Having watched all the games so far (yes I know I should get out more but it's all fell into place with my shifts) I think we've just seen the most exciting game so far from a neutrals point of view, I was totally rapt from kick off to final whistle, well done USA the effort alone deserved it.

Having said that, I also feel that it was the best display so far by a referee and his assistants, good interpretation, good application and no silly dramatics with decisions. If there was one fault, he was ever so slightly whistle happy, but even this disappeared in the 2nd half, and anyway nobodys completely perfect.... Not even 'Jacko.

Lets hope this set of officials are first in the hat for the next round. <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
