ESSEX COUNTY F.A. SENIOR REP TEAM

The bulk of the posters on this site seem to be supporters - ask the players who would like to represent their county in any format of the game.

99% would say yes.

End of thread I think.........

If i recall last years fixture involed only 1 player from enfield town (B.BROTHERTON)and 1 from sawbo (R.GOODCHILD)who played last year, with the inclusion of players from clubs like for example Waltham Abbey and barkingside this years squad should be alot stronger <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif" alt="" />

I am told that the following clubs have games on the same night meaning they wont release them for this county fixture.

CONCORD RANGERS V SOUTHEND MANOR

(Essex Thameside Trophy)

BURNHAM RAMBLERS V BRENTWOOD

(Essex Thameside Trophy)

V.C.D.ATH V ETON MANOR

(london Senior Cup)

Enfield town and Sawbridgeworth players not affiliated to essex f.a.

I wonder if you would have the same opinion regarding essex f.a representive football if you were one of the players that has played for the county or is going to be picked to represent the essex f.a. at tilbury on tuesday 9th november against the army, somehow i dont think so.?

As I have previusly stated, I would support any player from my two teams that is chosen to play for a representative side that means something to me. IE Middlesex or England (any level). I do not care about an ESsex side because I am not from Essex and I see aninclusion fo one of our players a risk. In the same way, I do not like seeing Robbie Keane playing for Ireland or Kanoute playing for Mali. those two countries mean nothing to me as does Essex. I am proud when a Spurs player plays for England or when Town players play for the England LD side.

End of thread methinks!

me thinks, mr happy why you get involed when enfield town is affilated to middlesex f.a, this forum regarding the essex senoir rep team does not concern any team or players from clubs that are not affilated to essex f.a.

Me now thinks thread closed.

I believe Bradley Brotherton was picked last year on the basis that he was born in Essex. I may be wrong but I think the criteria for selection is that you must either play for an Essex club or have been born in the county.

As for how much the game means, I'm sure all players like the recognition a call up to any representative side offers but supporters probably feel less impressed. That will, I suppose, always be the case.

Mr Happy

Who cares what you think (in the nicest way of course). As I said before, it is about the players not you and your cronies. The comparison of Robbie Keane and players at your beloved Enfield Town says more about your ridiculous non-league supporting mentality that you realise.

The constant talk of "putting your players at risk" is ridiculous to the extreme - you are in the Essex Senior League for Christs sake! I reckon they is more at risk when he turns out on a Saturday. Please, please try and retain SOME semblance of perspective! No offence intended but sometimes you ET boys..............

What are you on about? We want to win the ESL this season and start moving up the non-league pyramid. If one of our main players gets injured in a game that means nothing to ETFC fans it could contribute to missing out on going up again. Town are ambitious and I know that some ESL clubs are not. Look at things fromour side of the fence for a change.

Mr Happy you are listening but not hearing me.

It is not about you, it is about the players who turn in week in week out. Scouts from bigger clubs than yours (believe it or not, they do exist) will be there.

As a ESL player I would like to put myself in the "shop window" that is a rep.game......

Believe me, like I said before 99% of players will agree with me.

ST you missed the ironic thing about the rep match clashing with one of our fixtures.

Our game is..............MIDDLESEX senior cup !!
