our glorious England lads weren't too busy on their shopping trip to catch the Brazil Turkey game, it might give them some ideas.

Has anyone else noticed that in all of our warm up games and friendlies we play for 45 minutes and then make eight or nine substitutions, then when it comes to the real thing nobody bothers playing in the second half. Still the important thing is we got through the Big Ron Atkinson match without hearing too much about "Keano" and with only a few embarrasing moments over "man of the match Scholesy" now we have the Trevor "the only thing missing is the final ball" Brooking I think Rio hardly put a foot wrong other than for the two goals match to look forward to.

Ron made me laugh when he claimed shortly after Alexandersson's goal that he 'always thought Sweden would equalise', having earlier claimed that we were 'a far better side than them'.

Overall, we should be relieved to have claimed a point following our abysmal second half. It is sad that we have to use such a basic and unsuccessful long ball system when we have players who are quite capable of passing the ball well if asked.

As for Brazil, they might have had their silky skills on show today, but it's goals that count, and they needed a dubiously awarded penalty to save them.

In fact, I'm really growing to hate them as a team. Firstly, they obtained a hugely favourable group following a ropey qualifying campaign to say the least (and all thanks to their fine past record, as opposed to their current ability - surely the more important factor?), and secondly, their cheating today was disgusting and appalling (i.e. Luizao falling over just inside the box (what a coincidence!) having had his shirt initially pulled way outside the area, and Rivaldo clutching his face in 'agony' after the ball hit him far lower down ).

I really must calm down about this, and stop watching all of these World Cup matches on the box - it's turning me into a classic example of an armchair supporter.

Roll on next season, so I can start actually going to games again!

The mood as we head toward Sapporro is not exactly what you might call bouyant.....Most of the England seasoned support recon on a good win for the Argies....I,dunno.... there were some good things happening in the first half against Sweden.....Enough to give us hope

I,m still opptomistic as a Fleet fan should be.

BTW I was behind the goal whuch sadly saw no score but I could still hear Hesky breathing from the half way line.....Not good some players clearly not match fit. What are people saying back home????? ...I would still rather be English than French right now........I have been up all night so I could take in the selebrating Brazillian fans and get to see the Tokyo seafood market both sights to behold...Getting on the Bullet to Sendai shortley.......Siaonara......Raz LOL.......

At least one person will be happy with England's 1-1 draw with Sweden as this was the score someone predicted as part of a £1000 bet to correctly forecast the scores in England's group games. The other results he predicted were England 2 Argentina 1 and England 4 Nigeria 1.

He stands to collect over £1 million if all three scores are correct - lets hope he wins!
