Gravesend & Northfleet today announced that they are parting company with their chief executive Glenn Aitken, after 17 months in the job. Chairman Brian Kilcullen will step in as temporary chief executive immediately.

 

“Operational differences have led the board to make this decision, despite Glenn having brought value to the Club in a number of ways” said Kilcullen.

A very sad loss. I am gutted. I think we should name the TV gantry 'Glen's Nest' in his honour.

A complete waste of money in the first place, the board needs to think very hard whether to waste the money on another Chief Exec. Lets promote Andy Ford to a dual role of chief exec and full time manager. What were Glenns achievements anyway, and dont say the deal with Victor.

At least he didn't put miles on the clock of the Club 'KIA' by driving to any away games.

 

Also he organised those regular 'Manager's Forums'.

 

May be the Trust will be allowed to donate some kit to the club starting with a set of black shorts !

Have already approached the club to see if they would like some black shorts, the boys looked awfull on Saturday.

 

Seeing as Matt is posting, are you still keen to get a shirt as discussed last season. If you are I can probably organise something and can speak to Macca before the Carlise game.

Dont know why nothing came of it last yr Jess. cost of a new shirt + printing for the club = 40 quid max to replace a shirt and i was paying a lot more than that as you know.. simple economics from the club should've led them to say yes in the first place....

Looks like the news will make most on this board very happy, as he has been the butt of a lot of criticism since his arrival...

 

Not sure whether the club will publish what the ' operational differences ' were , but one wonders whether the board saw a different future for the club than the CEO.

To be honest , I am not sure what the future holds, but like most Fleet fans , I am looking for guidance from the club, and only hope that this will now be forthcoming.
