The Lewes Game

Dear Stu

Recommended Posts

I thought a thoroughly professional performance on Saturday by the boys.

The conditions were appalling and we still played the ball on the floor. All credit to the boys.

Hard to pick out a man of the match but for me there were excellent performances by;

Nut Nut - for his save in the first half which kept us in the lead

Macca and Westie - looking a very strong partnership at the back

The Whole Midfield - controlled the game I thought. Special mention yet again to John Martin who's cross for our first goal was superb. Lee Elam had his best game for a few games

Danny Shipp - best game in a urchins shirt. Linked up well and was unlucky not to add to his goal when he had his effort tipped over in the second half.

I can't leave this post without mentioning the Purse. Top scoring!!

Dear Stu,

Very good summary of the game apart from one thing I must pick you up on, Lee Elam is the only player who I feel is letting us down at the moment, he is definitely the weak link, needs to work harder although he produces flashes of brilliance in tight situations he always looks like he is coasting and has much more to give which is frustrating.

John Martin (little ginger midget as the Lewes fans called him) was different class, gives great balance and works his socks off as did Shippy and it was close between those two for MOM. Danny Hill did very well when he come on, but as the boys are learning there are margins to become injured or ill or get suspended.

Macca got suspended in came Jamie Stuart and until Lee Matthews got injured he could not get back in. Luckily for Westy Damon Searle got injured which allowed him back in and now he is in possession I don't see him giving that up, Searley got to wait now even though he has done nothing wrong. Jacko got ill in came Shippy 3 goals in 3 games and now Shippy is in control. Johnny Martin has overtaken Clarkie and rightfully so and now looks like Weathers is injured so lets see who steps up there game to take his place. What a squad.

NTRSW I will do a bit for the programme later in the season and let you know my pearls of wisdom, I have been associated with this club for quite a while and my name has been in the programme quite a few times this year in the 5,10,15 years ago section.

I did a fair bit last season for the club as well.

Have you all seen the picis, come on let's put names to faces I 've got at least 10

Mind you spot on their VOR, it's a squad game and now we can all see the advantage of having a big but quality squad.

I'm waiting for the Cowes result to appear, should be interesting!
