Festive Kit

To avoid us playing in that awful combination of red and green again, might I suggest our Chief Executive gets on the phone to Jako first thing tomorrow to order a set of black shorts. Not only did we play like the Dog and Duck yesterday we had the kit to match.

Furthermore, nice one Mr Ford, loan out a centre back without adequate cover in place. That pearl of wisdom cost us three points yesterday. Moving Jay to the back (again) ruined our shape. A truely shocking decision to loan out Shearer when Porter was feeling ill during the week. Where was ROM ?

Hello Everyone. Just got back from Halifax after a stay over in 5 star luxury in that Leeds courtesy of Last minute.com. We had hot water and everything. For those of you eager to see Fleets new festive kit, here's a photo for you. Only one photo tho. The stewards wouldnt allow any more to be taken. Im sure we were at the other end of the ground last year... Took us 3 half hours to get to the Shay. Just missed kick off. About 60 Fleet fans were there. Great ground the Shay. Albeit still unfinshed. Fleet had a great first half but the fans were a long way from the action as we camped in Halifax's half. Loads of running by Manny and Moussa beating the offside traps but running into nothing. Must admit when Wilko ran up behind Mansaram and punched the ball out from under his arm in the second half I thought Mansaram had stuck his elbow out cos Wilko fell down as if he had been hit. We were so far away tho. The Halifax lot would have had a better view. Dont wont to dwell on the not so cheeky stuff. As a fellow Fleet fan said to me via text as I cried into my cold chips and gravy at the end of the game, "Keep the Faith"...

Where were the proper shorts?

Presumably, our white shorts were deemed to clash with Halifax's, while we probably weren't allowed to wear our full away kit owing to Halifax's blue shirts (stupid I know, given that ours are light blue, but it wouldn't surprise me). Therefore, a rather sickly combination of the two was required.

Well Hugo......or can I call you Unregistered ???

We are in the top six...and , if I may venture forth such an opinion, would we not have settled for the current position at the outset of the season ???

Feel free to call a gathering for Mr Ford's head at The Plough !! But......don't expect me there !!

Regards,

Muppet !!!

I did not mention any thing about Andy's head or the plough. I was there unlike you (I suspect) and merely spelled out the facts.

Perhaps you being registered can throw some light on thinking behind letting Shearer go without cover ?

Well Hugo.........I bow to your superior knowledge ! Indeed, I was not there yesterday.....well spotted.

As for Andy's decisions, again, I take my hat off to you, as he does not take me into his confidence when making them. So you are entitled to question that, but not of me !!! It's a game of opinions, and you, as I, are entitled to them.

As for the "muppet" reference........now that does disappoint. Happy to discuss.

Cheers,

Now now lads keep the faith, we all would have settled for 5th place at this point of the season, now as for Lee Shearer i thought he was staying at Fleet and i find that very strange that he went on loan to Dover after playing against Exeter, unless of course there is more to it and only Andy knows that one.

Andy indeed may have good reasons for outing Lee Shearer but the timing was a big mistake. With Porter seemingly unwell in the preceding days this was a gamble, that failed.

Everytime Jay is moved out of midfield to cover centre back our shape goes. In an injury situation the minimum disruption is surely the best option ?

Matron has said that if I keep taking the medication, the voices will disappear and I should be available for the trip to Hornchurch on Saturday. As I am in solitary at the moment don't email me, I will text you nearer the time to sort out a meet.

Sorry Hugo...I may have been a tad abrasive yesterday. Peter W commented on why Sundays on the forum seem to get a bit out of hand....I blame Saturday's hangover & Sunday's roast beef !!.....and the Strongbow.....and the Jacob's Creek.....and Saturday's result....and the weather....and seasonal adjustment disorder syndrome ....and work!!

When we win, I seem to cope better !! Here's to a good day out at Hornchupminster and a great result Saturday ....

Cheers,
