Chelmsford game

Disappointing today, we were far from our best, but they were not too bad wither. 3-0 certainally flattered them though, although they deserved to win the match.

Played some good football at times, but we must learn we can't walk the ball into the net - every time they had an opportunity for a shot at goal took it, whereas we sometimes seemed to be looking for the perfect goal.

Overall good game in terrible conditions, good crowd but an improved perfomance next Sunday is needed! One to forget and anyway we know what our record in essex is like - TERRIBLE!

You wonder sometimes which Slough side is going to turn up. Is it going to be the one we saw at Kingstonian full of incisive attacking play and clinical finishing or the other Slough? The one that fails to take gilt edged goal scoring opportunities let alone half chances and who resorts to hoofing long balls as nobody has the confidence to hold on to it like we saw at Chelmsford?

A very disjointed performance with only Seedel emerging with any credit at all. Even the second half substitutions made litle impact with Miller and Hakki on for Harris and Spencer.

A third replacement saw Radders on for Chris Sliski, taking on the role of arguing with Martin once we were getting heavily beaten!

Let's hope the 'right' Rebels turn up next Sunday.

Our keeper is only 17 and that's only his third first team start this season. He's a good young keeper although needs to learn from games like that. I don't think his defence did him too many favours either.

Your guys looked OK although and fully deserved to win. Not sure if the referee realised that were two teams out there though, not that it would have made much difference to the outcome.

Good to see a reasonable home support although why so little noise?

Thought Slough were one of the better footballing sides we have met this season but you ran into a Chelmsford side on a roll. Since installing our reserve team manager as 1st team coach we have won three and drawn one. The game was fairly even but I thoughy that chelmsfords finishing was a bit more incisive.

A fair assessment there Mal. Very impressed with the attendance particularly given that your in the same boat as us playing every game "away". Good luck until our next meeting.

Did not take our chances and got punished. We had two particularly good spells at the start of each half when we had several decent opportunities. We do seem to struggle if we go behind and I am sure it would have been a completely different game and result if we had taken one of our earlier chances.

For me we lost the game in midfield and I felt Harris, Mets, Wilko and Spencer all had poor games. I appreciate that when four people are having off days you can't sub them all but we all know that to win a game you need to score more goals than the oppo so if I were in Eddie's shoes I would have made more attacking substitutions. As it was we still got hit on the break.

Anyway, got a week off now, so lets hope Eddie can get the boys confidence up ready for Sunday.

Come on Rebels.

Although I hasten to add for Chris's information that this was merely a disagreement about substitutions and everyone stayed fairly positive until the end and tried to lift the boys at the final whistle. Roll on Sunday.
