Strange really - Saudi Arabia played as though they were World Cup finals debutants and put in an inexperienced performance, when they have in fact qualified for the finals a few times and with reasonable success. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

 

Don't worry though - Germany surely won't find it that easy against Cameroon and Ireland. <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Yes, I must agree. Seeing the Saudi performance today I think Croydon would of given them a run for their money. The entire side looked lacking in skill and confidence, especially the 'keeper', who was laughable.

 

I know I couldn't of done any better, but these guys are supposed to be representing their country.

I have to admit I was listening to most of this game on my car radio, but Craig Brown was summerising and he reckoned the Saudi keeper wasn't really to blame for any of the goals <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

 

There again, being an ex-Scotland manager, wont give him any idea about what a decent goalkeeper would be! <img border="0" title="" alt="[big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Apparently his job was guaranteed before the kick off, whatever the result. And the 'keeper had a defence in front of him very similar to Croydon, only without the skills... Not once did a defender challenge for any of the 4 headed goals, in fact the only time they put in an aerial challenge was when the ball came in low.

With their speed coming forward, I can see the possibility of Cameroon scoring even more against them with the republic coming third in the group on goal difference.

Zey said Germany vere veak, but Germany viped ze arabs from ze face of ze verld. Zey vill not be ze last to feel ze jackboot against zere behind.

 

I've never seen such a comprehensive victory completed with such a complete lack of any style or panache. It was just a question of: "let ze aerial bombardment commence."
