Look,I hope that Margate get back to playing at Hartsdown and survive as a club. No football fan wants to see a team go under.

But having read the article in Kent Online, I am still staggered that the latest plan put forward by Margate FC still includes a hotel, leisure complex etc etc. I don't see how you can blame the council (who as the leader pointed out have already spent a vast amount of council taxpayers' money on something that is only directed supported by less than 1% of the island's population) for being wary of such an ambitious project.

If MFC just levelled the pitch and got the ground up to conference standard without all of these bizarre and over-ambitious extras, it would have all been sorted by now. If you think this Keith Piper (bankrupted how many times now?) only cares for local football fans and not about making money then you are all incredibly naive.

To be fair, football clubs cannot rely on gate receipts alone and the commercial developments (some of them anyway) are needed to help fund the building of the stadium. However, I am broadly sympathetic with what you are saying and can tell you not all MFC fans have their heads in the sand.

Confirmed amount that Turner Centre WILL cost as it stands at the moment TWO MILLION Pounds PER YEAR to keep open. Only 500,000 coming fron the Arts Council(Government funded - therefore through income tax) the rest through KCC( therefore council tax)

 

Football ground is very cheap by comparison.

It was seen that in the Conference our gates at Hartsdown were rising to 2000 plus. The more success we had the better the gate was.

 

As for Sandy's election, Cliftonville is so Tory you can put a muppet up for the seat and they would be elected.............ok no further comment needed.

It does'nt matter where he comes from,and yes he was democratically elected,but he's not acting like a democrat is he-delaying and changing and moving the goalposts each time.And certain fixtures WOULD attract those sort of gates-check from Conference days.With success-which we know CK CAN ACHIEVE.We just need the poxy chance.You'd be annoyed too if you cared-twat.

The bottom 3 of the Conference were Farnborough,Leigh and Northwich.

One stayed up because no one came up from the Unibond, one stayed up because of Telford going bust and one stayed up because Thanet Council fu#ked Margate over the ground.

 

So if you know about non league football get your facts right about relegation. In the meanwhile sod off back to the carpet showroom in Northdown Road (what is left of it after Sandy has done his bit to destroy the town)
