Enfield Town vs Diss Town

F.A.Vase First Round: parking arrangements

 

Just a reminder that Saturday is F.A.Vase First Round day and Diss Town of the Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Premier will be our welcome visitors to Goldsdown Road. Diss Town are rumoured to be bringing two coachloads of supporters to the game and parking around the ground will be severely restricted. We therefore are asking supporters to make use of the Downs parking space which is situated directly left of the entrance to the gates of the car park. The Mayor of Enfield Cllr John Egan and Joan Ryan MP will be attending the game when we will be marking the beginning of the Kick Racism Out of Football week.

Talking of Joan Ryan.I see in the papers today,she is on the 'hitlist' of MP's claiming the most amount of expenses .Apparently last year she claimed £146,424 in expenses on top of her £57,000 a year salary. Nice work if you can get it. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

 

Most of the other MP's in the top 20 are from Northern constituencies and claim their big expenses bill is mainly down to travel costs and running a second home in London because they can't commute.What's Joan's excuse.She is the ONLY member in the 'hitlist' to come from London. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/doah.gif" alt="" />

Plus the Mayoral and MP car as well. That'll take up half the car park. Oh yeah, and the kids and parents on the park up till 2pm. I predict chaos, and you can quote me on that too.

I never manage to get a space in the proper car park anyway. There's is plenty of space on the downs.However IF the downs is closed because of bad whether then yes it will be chaos.

 

Presuming the downs entrance is open, can we have a steward to direct people into it once Brimsdowns car-park is full.It's a very narrow concealed entrance and unless you are familiar with the ground,there's no way casual supporters or away supporters will know where to go.

We always used to have at least 2 stewards on the Downs Car Park, but they got so badly verbally abused by Brimmo people because they could not park in the ground, that it was decided to stop stewarding the Downs.

 

For a while some Brimmo people did do it, but that soon stopped. Typical.

 

If any one wants to offer for that Job, then see our Safety Officer Dave Farenden.

can't stand wearing those horrid yellow jackets, they clash my eyes, however for you SL, I will make an exception (for 2 corner pieces of bread pudding)
