(not to worry)That [****!!****] would put 300 on your home gates if he handed the club over to a progressive benefactor! [censored] Off Deaner <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wall.gif" alt="" />

So all we need to find is a 'progressive benefactor' then.

I can see a queue of them forming right now... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/greenapple.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pineapple.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/orange.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/redbanana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/yay.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/strawberry.gif" alt="" />

Presumably Rebel Rouser, you and all your mates have ten of thousands of pounds to spare per year. Why not offer the club your services?

If perhaps you are slightly more strapped for cash why not do something a bit more proactive to help the club. I trust I will see you at the Race Night tonight for starters....

Regarding Martyn Deaner, remember the meeting where we decided if he should carry on as chairman? He said that he would arrange a meeting within a couple of months to update us on any progress - anyone know anything about this?

Firstly, we don't have publically listed shares but the club is owned by a private company which will have shareholdings.

Secondly, Deaner said he would continue to fund the club and until I hear otherwise that is how it is.

Thirdly, yes Matt he did say he would have a meeting with us but as far as I am concerned there is no point in calling a meeting to tell us that there has been no significant developments. Presuming that is the case.

Nobody panic, let's just concentrate on having a decent time at the Polish Club tonight and see what the Observer has to say tomorrow. Remember your wallets.

As far as public record is concerned, the Club is owned by FRUS Ltd, which has three directors and as far as I can see, there are only three shares issued, one each.........

So as Martin says, until we hear more, let's wait and see. For those who think it is easy, you need to be able to part with a couple of hundred grand a year to keep a club at this level going and being a serious contender - any volunteers? Whatever one may think of Mr D, he has kept the club afloat, when he did have far easier options, so give the guy the benefit of the doubt until we know more.

U all live in cloud cuckoo land, Liz Hurley could run a business if u dont pay the bills! Relegation, no ground, average attendance slashed year after year, supporters finding sponsors, supporters fund paying sum bills, threatening to run away when he doesn't get his way, His history of running football clubs goes before him!

Yes our illustrious leader is well respected in the business world! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/strawberry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pink_md_wht.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/ban.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

And without him we'd be in a much better position of course i.e. no ground, further relegation, losing senior status, no players, less fans and pricks like you saying I told you so. With Deaner we still have a chance, without him the club dies immediately. I don't want to watch combined county league football. I'm sure we are all agreed that MD could have done a better job to date than he has but when you speak of handing the club over to a progressive benefactor I've not seen too many people knocking on his door looking to take over the mantle. Deaner has said for a while he'd hand the club over to anybody who could make a proper go of it, but there have not been interested parties.

Seeing as you a clear that Deaner needs to go, how about you come up with some useful suggestions for the way forward and while you're at it find some potential interested wealthy progressive businessmen to take over.

Nothing to worry about, Martyn will still be involved with the club. There will be more news on this in Friday's Observer.

Chris (STFC) - I can only see the story on thisisslough.com, which seems to say that he is going - nothing about Martyn still being involved except to pay the rent. Am I missing something? Like who pays the wages?

And Chris S, did anything come of the meeting with the FA?

Well as the Thorne's nearly put us out of business I don't have too much sympathy if they didn't get their money. As for Martyn, who exactly do you think is paying the damn good group of players we've currently got?

I think, Rouser, maybe you'd be more suited to following Steve Browne to Dover.
