Slough Town 1-1 Folkestone

Matt Seedel in the 60th-ish minute. We could and should have scored a hatful tonight, and could have had the game won by half-time - but Folkestone came back into it after going one down, and grabbed the equaliser. From here on, they were on top and could even have snatched the win.

With literally the last touch of the game, Matt Murphy put an unbelievably easy header from 6 yards out past the post, unmarked, with ages to place it.

Really strange game! Worst thing we did was score! After that we were not at the races. Thought Matt Seedal was excellent and was a bit surprised he went off. Could have had a hatful first-half, but if the game had gone on any longer I think they may have won it.

Spence and the Mullet created countless chances in the 1st half before they both faded. Best players IMO were Murphy (Michael) and Saulsbury who were both outstanding at the back, although Wilko once again had a good game.

P.S. Liam I presume you still have my shirt with you, just bring it Saturday if possible. Cheers mate.

The Folkestone manager wants his ar$e kicked if you ask me. Why the hell were they defending in the first half with six men along the back? They were obviously pretty crap at it as we opened them up time after time. Anything like the clinical finishing we showed on Saturday and we would have been out of sight at half time.

Yet when they came forward they caused us all sorts of problems so only he will know why he had them sitting so deep beforehand.

Fair play to the band of Folkestone fans who came up on a nasty evening all that way with significantly more fans than Cheshunt could muster. Good effort, lads. Then again, if I was that close to France, I'd look for any reason to get away!

Slightly disappointing result, given that in my opinion in the first 65 minutes we played some of our best football of the year. Whilst on occasions looking threatening - Folkestone did not pose us that many problems and the main concern from the crowd was that we would regret the misssed chances. We did seem to create chance after chance. The reason we did not get four yesterday was just bad luck imo, simply did not have the rub of the green in front of goal unlike in some recent matches.

Unfortunately, when we did get the goal that spurred them into life and we were on the back foot for a spell. It was quite funny that Folkestone came looking for the draw, attacked well when behind pressing to get an equaliser and then seemed clueless how to play the last 15 minutes. Half the time their players were running around to get the ball in play quickly whilst the rest of the time they were strolling as if a point will do.

Lots of plus points for me - we played well, created chances, Seedel seems to be on fire and both Hakki and Miller looked very lively when they came off the bench. Also good to have Matt Murphy back from illness although how he failed to get that header on target I may never know. Just one of them days.

Bring on Chelmsford. Come on Rebels.

Also is it just me, or did our midweek attendances last season NEVER dip as low as 233?? I know there was Champions League on TV and all that, but it's still very disappointing. Add the fact that at least 10-15 were away fans, meaning the Slough contingent was only about 220. And 66 or so of those were season ticket holders (I caught a glimpse of the sheet) and hence didn't pay to get in, resulting in a pretty poor night's gate revenue I would've thought.
