Slough vs Salisbury - on Sunday 31st October

BFR

Recommended Posts

According to the Press Officer of Salisbury City, the match will be staged on Sunday 31st October, kicking off at 2pm - that is 2pm and not 3pm and is a good idea in my opinion as it avoids a clash with live football on Sky, albeit a non-interesting match involving Bolton.

Remember that the clocks go back the previous night so don't turn up an hour late!

A replay if required will be on Wednesday 3rd November at 7.45 - this comes as a relief as I may well have had to miss the trip were it on a tuesday.

So the winners - SHOULD know who they will play in the 1st round proper to add extra spice to the Occasion as the draw is normally done on a Saturday night on Grandstand (or whatever it's called now).

If there's a replay though I can't make it, so come on Rebels - win on the day!!

Please, no talk of first round draws. As soon as any of us, fans or players, start thinking about the next round we'll lose sight of what we have to do to win this one. This won't be easy at all. Salisbury are a good, hard side and the sort of team we struggle against (Staines, Hampton etc).

How many of us were guilty about speculating who we'd get after Harrogate Railway?

Veering back unsteadily to the original topic...

I don't think we can get away from the fact that everyone (players and fans) could know who the winners will line up against in the following round. So, would Eddie give instructions for the players to 'maintain radio silence' before the match so that they don't know?

Would it make any difference to the way they played?

Realistically, it will come down to whether Slough can raise their game more than Salisbury undoubtedly will.

This has the potential of making it a cracking good match.

(And I don't know whether I'll be able to make it for a 14:00 kick-off... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />)

All fair points Ian and we really do have to focus on each game as it comes - cliche though it may be. We need to look to the next two league games before we consider the cup - 6 points on offer that we need to be looking to take. Concentration and focus is vital.

But as the others have said - the draw will have been made - so come kick off on the Sunday it is going to be difficult for everyone involved not to be thinking about what they are just 90 minutes away from.

Come on Rebels, lets get maximum points in the next two.

Well said Martin - Folkestone tonight, with a win taking us the silly league table to 5th, with a game in hand on Northwood and Hampton above us. Lets hope Matty Seedel can build on his late goal at the weekend and put in another good performance
